Edited by: ViperVenom on 24/04/2008 03:31:20 I mean the Devs.. Iv been playing EVE for a while now and i really really like it. But it almost seem like when they make 1 fix they break 4 or 5 things. And im not talking about people running nano's. I mean how a few ships are gimped and kinda sux now.. And how new ships seemed nice but when u try it on sisi your like wow... E.A Triage..sounded good..suxs NOS fix good made a ship type not unflyable but very very difficult 2 use. I mean iv read where people had very good ideas how to fix and they used numbers..the Dev love numbers.. I will say over the Year CCP has fixxed quite a few screw ups. But it seems as of late they kinda dropped the ball. I mean Black Ops BS..not a good ship. But i still play EVE and i will hope that they fix a few glitches.

Can anyone else understand the gist of what he said? Maybe it's a problem with our differing bloodlines. -----

Get used to it =/ there's no QA department. At least 1.2 didn't fail like 1.1 or the Boost Patch. But yea you should check out the forums after a patch, most of your questions will be answered, aka nothing will change dramatically.

Asking for some attention by the devs to his golden suggestion made somewhere
But i think, he is right in at least one point. Fixing one issue creates several others. But its always a tradeoff, and eve is way to advanced to fix it in general.
And yes, i think the "original" concept is already messed up due to the fact that some ideas were just wrong, or were leading to more problems the older eve gets (e.g. Adv. Learnings, wealth of individual players etc.).

Dev's do listen and they do read the forums. They just don't comment, as anything they say will be used against them and seen as promises (just look at SiSi). So unless they have something set in stone, they won't comment. A lesson taught by bitter players. |

Listen to who? The people who want to buff X or the people who want to nerf it? Even BACON had people who supported it as well as people who hated it.

Edited by: Ioci on 24/04/2008 09:50:55 I'd agree but they fixed the noob channel ISK spam, so while they don't come in here and interact, they do listen.
Black Ops BS is where you ended. I heard it is getting a patch. I have one and you are right. I have yet to see why I should risk a billion ISK in ship, riggings and fittings. They have no practical application in Eve. The Marauder gets 100% damage on its BS bonus weapons. There is a tracking speed bonus on Black Ops but if you never get a lock, that means nothing and with the cloak penalty, the scan res is phase 3 BS level. Allow them to passive lock while cloaked, uncloak when the lock takes they would become a true threat. Right now, they are fat kill mails. Or give them a smartbomb dmg bonus and I will get to 4km and lay down the damage without a lock.
Add On: Are you the guy who lost the deemer in Providence? Sorry, if so . Mine is in safe sec and will stay there untill the patch. Then it will either get used or recycled. |

I believe i have flown with you in Agony, Joss. At that point i flew my nano-drake. So you know just as well as i, that it was a beast.
I just told Nozh, as he seemed drunk, that it was overpowered. I took the moral victory of having told that the damps were a bit too good, but i never expected them to fix it!

Indeed, plus I saw your "other half" posting the other day and put two and two together, heh.
Really though if it is working just fine for you then generally when they change it, it isn't a fix!

Does anyone realise that devs never had to listen to players in the first place? Games used to be crap or great depending on how they got shipped. There were no patches, no re-balances, etc. Now we play online people expect that devs will be clustering around a screen waiting for feedback to come from the players, which is usually complaints about balancing. Incase the people are unable to realise this for themselves, but balancing is a subjective issue. Control & graphical problems usually get fixed asap (unless no real after release was planned anyway, but mmo's usally have this) Content is usually neglected by people who rush through a game and complain afterward that it was to short.
Long useless rant short, if devs check on some of the feedback, be happy. Other media such as film, books or music don't have that luxury.

You sir have a very valid point I do believe. We may complain about balance or fixes or nerfs or what have you, but very few others medias / games / hobbies, do the creators monitor and fix things. Maybe not in the best or fastest or most desirable system by player standards, but all the same.
