Hardware Upgrade Complete
We have now completed the first phase of our hardware upgrades and we have started the cluster at 01:00 GMT. The second phase will involve doubling the number of servers along with a complete over haul of our SQL Server cluster.
How do you feel about it?
Share you ideas, thoughs and feelings concerning this change.
Logging in might be easier after you have cleaned up your cache folder, it may prevent being stuck while loading.
After all the capacity is being used offcourse, CCP will slowly increase it.

I wasn't happy about todays performance but neither was I enraged - things like these happen when you upgrade stuff.
I'm easily pleased though.

From what I've heard lag does seem to be reduced, haven't had a chance to check it out myself though.
And if people dont want to discuss it any further I'm fine with that, but I'm not fine with 8 threads about the same subject

It really clutters up the forum and other threads about nicer subjects get pushed far downn It's also easier to CCP to read 1 thread that deals with all ideas and complaints then to read 8 or more.

It had to be done though, Cao Cao, because everyone and their vicar were creating a seperate thread for every single thought.
This saves you have to search back even further to bump your Highway thread

I took the free time to reinstall EVE couse it was beeing bit noughty lately 
Anyways hardware updgrade is always a good thing, and I can tolerate couple days with unstable gameplay, and often downtimes. But only a couple CCP

Ya I was in them for awhile because I thought they were more of a merc corp. When I joined I was immediatly flamed for being a pirate and explained to that snigg was much more a pirate corp then a merc corp which I thought was the other way around. So I decided to leave is that a problem

Even though it's been up and down all day, I'll be happy if we get 10k people on tomorrow without any lag.
P.S. Some of us don't talke technical speak so could the Dev blogs about broken stuff be in English please

I watched Formula One Qualifying today (extremely boring, btw). It's a billion dollar business, thousands of most experienced people are working in it. So how can it happen that an engine of a top team's car will show a failure at the most stupid moment??
Maybe some guys should think about this (and many other things in real life) before complaining about missing some hours of gameplay 
Sometimes I get the feeling that some people mixing up game and life. And this makes me some kind of nervous

Ahh there is a explanition about what went wrong... great.. been wondering what was the prob and now we know. Resyncing of the raid drives.
And could you all stop complaining about the money? So far you've lost something like 0.5 USD of playing time. Look at it as good investment for upcomming weekends with less or even without lag!

Anyway strengh and wisdom to the DEVS, if this is they way to get to a fully running and stabble tranquillity im fine with it. Glad the income from subscriptions is beeing used

For the people who missed it, they are slowly increasing the server capacity so soon everybody should be able to log in again.

I cant really see it happening but I'm, hoping that the inconvenience will be reflected in everyones bills
and while I'm at it I'm also hoping that all war, violence and crime in the world will also suddenly dissapear overnight.
Actually I've changed my mind, just crime, violence however at least makes things mildly interesting

I must say I'm delighted. Altough I don't understand all that hardware mumbo-jumbo I'm very pleased to hear there are upgrades going on. I'm excited about the future upgrades as well and hope that will take place as soon as possible 
Concerning the extended DT and such, well it happens. If life was easy all the time you'd get bored anyways |

Well atm it runs smooth like dream great work CCP.
Im curious to see how this upgrade will affect lag in bigger battles.
I really hope that after all upgrades the lag will be reasonable in bigger battles (60 + ships) .Im very excited at this prospect:)

Hi,
I was talking to a few of my friends and they said that when eve reached its peak it was very good. Not laggy like other weekends.
Is the phase 2 still going ahead this week? If so what day do you plan on doing this?

But anyway why is a Mod advising us about hardware upgrades, have we've lost another CM? Oh please tell me she's not being promoted to a new position! If she is have her get rid of that crappy "heart" sig line thing.
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
