What is the T-Shirt "SOON" on the EVE store mean? I feel if I was gonna buy it, I would know what it meant. Can't seem to find any kind of Description.
If you don't know don't give some smartass answer. TY
Just curious why anyone would buy it without knowing what it means.

...
Ok. Ok. It's CCP's catchphrase. If you see them say "Soon" in regards to a feature, expect it never to come. ______________

Basically everytime somone has asked about a feature that isnt really on the DEV teams mind yet, like for example the working stock market, we are told "expect some info/patch on it soon."
It was used so many times that people started using soon(tm) as an actual measurement of time, meaning "arbitrarily far ino the future."
Take titans for example. Theres somethign that will be in the game "soon(tm)" meaning when the devs get around to it.
Read all the CSMs on EveGate to get a better idea of the meaning.

O...M...G. They have crossed the line when they market a T-Shirt that reveals the incompetence of content that is/was suppose to be in the game already.
T.you for pointing out the meaning (however lame it is) to me.

Don't take it too seriously. It's sortof an inside joke that's been around since the beginning; even CCP take some time to laugh at themselves over it, and we enjoy badgering them too. ______________

Obviously you've never played a Sony, EA or Mythic MMORPG before.

Edited by: Origim on 25/04/2004 02:59:39 Soon(tm) is a saying that was started when the MMORPGs were started.
When they put soon(tm) on a t-shirt, they didn't mean specific eve content that was promised but is not coming soon, they meant it as a joke. --------------

Pretty much wearing it is telling others that you play mmorpg's, but only other players on mmorpg's will understand it.

But seriously what kind of impression does making a shirt like that leave on its customers? sure its funny and i agree with what it means. But for a company to acknowledge thats its full of sh*t when it comes to promisiing new content and not delivering how dumb is that?

No one said that they never deliver.
Many things that were once said to be in soon(tm) have been added in patches absolutely FREE for us. One reason I expect is that any sort of expansion will be manditory for every single player for them to play. --------------------------------------------------

Free in that you get new content without having to buy an expansion pack.

Go look at Anarachy Online: they charge for expansions, CCP do not. Which I think is great. Plus, a company that can take the **** out of itself is a good thing!

Well for you chaps/girlys that feels like it¦s some form of a bad joke on behalf of the playerbase, to put out a T-Shirt with the SOON[tm] in the store. Then you schould know that it has been requested by some of us players to begin with...

Edited by: kurg on 25/04/2004 10:53:07 I for one have a soon (tm) shirt.. good thing is it doesnt scream eve (Ive got an eve shirt for that ) though theres a small eve logo in the back of the neck.
its even a nice design in my opinion...
about what its about... well wed all like to see stuff soon'er rather than later.
personally id like to see alts go and let npc's podkill based on standing (so the worse your factionstanding + system sec, the greater the risk)
even the paranoid has real enemies...
