I'm planning to use the rest of the drone bay to hold spares.
All skills that effect the combat ability of this ship will be at least level 4, with the following skills at level 5: Drones Scout Drone Operation Energy Systems Operation Energy Management Gunnery Hull Upgrades Several skills that effect my ability to fit modules, like Engineering.
EFT tells me that this setup is cap stable, but I have no clue if the tank is strong enough. I am willing to consider the other Galente battleships, but I want to be running a rail boat.

That should work just fine with a little bit of aggro management (i.e. don't bite off more than you can chew ) --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Can't find a mechanical engineering agent? Need a non-Caldari Navy agent? http://www.eve-agents.com/ for all your agent needs! |

Also you may want to consider dropping down to 350mms. Easier to fit, better tracking and you're not losing that much range and DPS. You can fit a CPR in the low then if you want more tank (another aux nano pump instead of a CCC) or an MFS for more gank. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! What is an MFS ?

Magnetic Field Stabilizer (I hate that abbreviation personally, prefer mag stabs :P).

Mag stabs is the more commonly used one, probably because it lacks ambiguity.
Still I'm a month off having the required skills, so I have plenty of time to consider what to do.

[Hyperion, hype] 2x Large Armor Repairer II 2x Dark Blood Armor Kinetic Hardener 1x N-Type Thermic Hardener I 1x Capacitor Power Relay II
1x Domination 100MN Afterburner 4x Cap Recharger II
8x 350mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
3x Capacitor Control Circuit I
5 Drones :P
--- Thats what I'm running level 4s in (got bored of raven and wanted to skill up armor tanking for pvp anyways). As a matter of fact this works so damn well, I'd never go back. You just leave one LAR permarunning and the other one you turn on while AB'ing out of "whoodeedoo right in the middle"-jump-ins.
The Hyperion is the third fastes BS in game. (1. phoon, 2. pest, 3. hype I think) Don't ruin that with something like nanopumps. I like the strategic movement in the ship.

Chillshock, how much more expensive would your setup be than the one I proposed ?
I'm having to fund this ship from level 3 missions (include the cost of the hardeners I'll have in my hanger until I encounter a mission against that damage type), so I don't want it to be too expensive.
Also I'm currently 28 days away from the skills I want. To also have tech II rails, it would add another 50+ days.
So for anyone considering suggesting builds for me, if it has any faction or higher modules please compare it's cost with the setup in the OP. And tech II rails are not an option.

OP, you must have a lot of isk to risk throwing away. A Dominix costs less than half what a Hyperion does, and it runs L4 missions much easier.
Don't fly the Hyperion in level 4 missions just because you want to say "I fly a Hyperion in level 4 missions." You may struggle with some of them more than you would with a Domi. ---- What part of "shorn't" do you not understand? |
