Getting tackled by the tacking interceptor of each race.
Cause you can't kill or and it can't kill you, you have to sit and wait to get 'wtf'ed' by his buddies when they get there.

Every ship can present it's own share of "aww hell" moments. However, in most cases no common class of ship is quite so scary as an interceptor.
The reason is specifically because the interceptor is, in and of itself, almost 0 threat to ships I tend to fly. If I'm ratting in a Drake I can rest assured that no interceptor will EVER punch through my tank - and I generally assume the inty pilot knows this as well. On the rare circumstances that I don't actually pay enough attention to local and get snagged by an inty it presents the biggest aww hell moment in the game. I always assume once I get snagged that a hoard of nano ships are waiting for the go signal.
Blaster ships I can deal with, drone boats I can deal with. But when you're presented with a ship that represents so many potential situations, THAT's when I get scared.

I know you fly Amarr, but also Caldari, correct?
Seeing as the Curse's disabling abilities rely on neuting/nos and disrupting, both won't affect a Caldari so much, especially not a passive drake. I don't engage drakes at all in a Curse either!

No drone ship really scares me as a rule, but it depends on what I'm in. I may not be able to kill a Nano Ishtar but if you can keep a cool head and his friends don't show up I can generally ensure the Ishtar leaves the battle with an empty drone bay.
Of course, in 0.0 an Ishtar alone generally means he's just a vanguard of a larger raid so It's usually a tense battle with me wondering just how long it will be before the ishtars friends come.

Really it all depends on the situation..
I know if iam in a drake/nighthawk (full passive of course) i'm not scared of a curse...tracking disruptors vs missile boats == fail
on the same note
If iam in anything with missiles, iam not scared of a falcon, cause iam packing fof's...really a falcon is nothing to be scared of...its his freinds he will no doubt have waiting to drop in...no man in his right mind is solo'ing in a falcon.
Really the two ships above are very situation dependant..(falcon alot more so) but all in all, the curse is something one should not right off if your ship depends on cap...
Sleipnir and abso are also nasty customers...but will nearly always need to get close (20km or less) for there teeth to really show.

I suppose the falcon, like any support ship, is actually quite harmless alone. As such I am not inheritly "scared" of a falcon. I just know that a falcon PROBABLY has friends or else it wouldn't try it's luck at combat.

That is only true if I am flying a ship of the same type at the same time. Which means, that the scariest ship is the one I am flying, and if you happen to fly the same ship at the same time, you are also flying the scariest ship... um... yeah...

Any of the T2 ships, actually. If it's an interceptor, he's the tackler for some bad gang. If it's a HAC he's gonna pwn my ass before I say goodbye. If it's a HIC it means bubble, and bubble means dead. If it's a Command Ship I just MIGHT survive (I usually fly amarr battleships).
But nothing smells "oh ****" as much as a Vaga warping to you at the same time you see local fill up with reds...

Generally a falcon. It means there's probably more in the gang and you'll likely be losing the fight.

You have obviously never heard of tiller. I am generally uncomfortable with him anywhere in the constellation. Him in a shuttle just means that he's on his way to get something to BBQ you with.
Back on topic, my vote goes for anything that can tackle you that you cannot kill. They're usually fast, can often get the drop on you, and are rarely alone. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Edited by: DHB WildCat on 28/04/2008 18:04:41 There really is only one ship anyone should be worried about.... and it needs all these characteristics
Speed Ability to tackle / web High DPS Quick lock time Long lock range Ability to hit at 0.1 - 249km Ability to Jam Ability to kill even while jammed (fof's) Ability to Nuetralize
And as far as I know there is only two ship types able to do this all. Those are the ones I would fear if I came accross them.

- In small gangs my vote goes to see a falcon on the field. - Solo, seeing an inty or rapier (you know you are about to get tackled with the world jumping on you) - Solo, curse still an amazing pwnmobile - In a gang, a tanked ship like a drake. It's funny we have a corp member that hates seeing a solo drake when we are in a gang. He just knows it's bait and Hell is waiting around the corner when we engage.

Honestly the ships that scare me are these crazy invis ships that keep blowing me up. They tend to be in large fleets and they usually warp in in advance of the enemy fleet or are waiting on gates when i warp in and they kill me. Aparently they can fire when cloaked... can't find them on the market, don't know what they are called... but they scare me. ------- I am the King of Rome and above grammar. |

I would say the scariest thing is a intercepter incomeing or a covert ops ship like the rapier, ohnestly all the covert ops ships should be lethal in the hands of a good covert ops pilot.
The Arazu would be great as a lethal ship if it used webers instead of dampeners and maybe alittle speed boost. The Falcon is a good ship as well. Any of the covert ops ships and interceptors should be on the top of the list.
But, if your ratting always keep at full speed incase you see a neutral or hostile lingering in your system. if a covert ops declaoks then ur at full speed. wwarp away. so many pilots do not do that.

Hmm, yeah that would be a great ship, I think CCP should invent one. I can think of a great name for this new type of Recon. The Rapier!
Seriously, my fears in this order:
1. Any light dictor 2. Any recon (the order changes depending on the ship I am in). In my usual ship the pilgrim or curse is the most feared. 3. Any fast HAC
BS are really not to be feared unless they have support with them. A solo BS is easy meat. Hence why no real 1 v 1 BS fights despite all the hyperthetical (I can't spell) ones in this forum, except on Sisi. |
