L: 5 x Expanded Cargo II
R: 2 x Cargo Rigs.
Best Cov ops hauler in the game since its pretty crap for most other things

I have to agree with you there. Fly the falcon and you will never want to fly a pilgrim again 
Anyhow to the OP, Pilgrim will have tough time due to low nos/neut range, taking you into enemy web range. pilgrim is a paperthin ship so enemy will kill it. Its pretty useless when nanoed since again, you need to be within nos/neut range = web range. Curse does not have this issue since it can use LSE buffer and has 30km+ Nos/neut range.
Pilgrim can fit a AB and 1600 plate, in which case you will get decloaked in the first competent camp you jump into. without 1600 plate, ratters might end up killing you.
I can go on and on, Egress rigged pilgrim is barely acceptable but just fly curse or if Cov Ops is your thing, falcon/rapier.

Since the nos gimp you need at least 2 neuts and and a nos, you need rigs to support the neuts but in true ccp fasion that just gimps the now more. Mid mwd/tackle etc. Low some form of tank, you need recon v to fit energised gear so you're probably going for plain resistance plating and some form of plate, which makes you even slower and easier to catch.
In a gang loose the nos, fit hpII w scorch and use 4 mids for disruptors, only time i'd use a pilgrim in gang is when i were with a b. ops and couldn't lay my hands on anything else though.
Issue for you is a nice fit, issue with the pilgrim is it is simply not enjoyable to fly these days, and that makes me truly sad.
