an officer fit mothership dying is about same as 20+ carriers/dreads dying in same engagement, battlereports about engagements with that kind of effect on corps/alliances are much more important than 99% of the other crappy threads on caod
if you don't want to read about ms dying nobody is forcing you to open thread k?

As for the other points I do sorta agree with you about too many posts about these things (and I have to admit SPA have been less than mature on the forums today  ), but from my point of view I always like to know how these "big ships" died... I mean, even if they are going down like carriers have been for the last 2 years, I'll still read a "omg we killed a carrier" post if it has a good battle report, because I find it interesting and I enjoy knowing what happened.
I will yield though that this mothership kill was hardly the most epic ever and was solely the fault of the pilot deciding to leave the shields with a big hostile gang in local. I'd put it down to the fact that we've had some absolutely ******* *****ing kills over the last 2 days which has gotten people a little hyperactive

Actually far more then 10, over 30 killed in game so far  . Even so, a 20-40b isk loss is still a fair accomplishment.

He died about 5KM from the POS shields, nobody came to help, we bumped him a bit but otherwise we parked our BS infront of him.
It took us about 5-6 minutes to get through shields, then the armor and structure just melted (as to be expected). We were using a 4x neut apoc throughout the fight though.

Noticed on the IRON killboard that the 1 MS they killed was worth 20bn but this is worth -566.2mil loss, in other words a half a billion profit.
