Is it purely psychological that it tastes better or is there an actual change in the manufacturing process?
Many claim that it is due to the corrosive properties of the drink that parts of the can and plastic bottles absorb into the drink. This is false. I'd love to hear answers.

It's because a tin can tastes worse than glass. When you're drinking, your tongue tends to touch the container of said beverage. If the container is a tin can, it tastes horrible. If it's glass, it doesn't taste of anything much other than the drink itself. I've noticed it with beer too. --------------------------------------------------------------------

When you drop a metallic coin into a glass of cola, it strips the surface layer of grime, dirt and metal from it returning it to a condition similar to when it was originally produced. The same prinicple happens when you fill a steel or aluminum can, the cola reacts with it's unpainted inner surface.
With a glass bottle you don't get this reaction, hence it tastes slightly different. So no, it's not psychological.

Of course, Pepsi tastes better anyway Only ever so slightly, that is, but still... Coca Cola in plastic bottle is horrendeous, Pepsi in plastic bottle is tolerable

Glass bottle taste the best, plastic bottles are the worst, and cans are the cheapest.
I drinnk Pepsi from the can, but I drink Spreckers (root beer) from the bottle. Can't stand any of the root beer in cans...

I miss the cola cola glass bottles, they don't really sell them around here.
Pepsi works from pretty much any type of bottle.
Jolt on the other hand means straight from the can. Maybe its nostalgia (from my teens), but there is something special about the taste of an ice cold jolt straight from the can. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. Depends on the water quality. In some places (like NY for example) it's horrible.
Besides, considering how difficult it is to properly clean a bar gun... eww. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. It's given freely, and only grudgingly retracted when necessary. |

Again, the difference in taste is NOT due to the aluminum being stripped away from the acidity and being mixed with the drink. They are coated with something so they are not worn away in the short time that they are sold.

fun fact: distilled water tastes of absolutely nothing. the reason water tastes of something is because it isn't pure and the body then processes/distills the undesireable elements so they don't hurt you.

Did you also know that flouridated water was used in the **** concentration camps. Why you ask? to make the inmates more docile and cognitively impaired. And it's anything but good for your teeth, you see, consumption of flouride is much different from cleaning your teeth with it and then spitting it out.
another tool for the same purpose is in your soft drinks, especially in those labelled zero and no sugar. it is called aspartame, an artificial sweetener many times stronger than sugar, which has an adhd promoting effect / lack of focus and concentration / inability to perform complex tasks/multi task at a normal speed or to think outside the box and make creative solutions while under the influence which lasts several hours after consumption, hence the prolonged "buzz" in contrast to sugar soft drinks which was the predecessor with the same purpose, a sweet poison for your mind.
All the best.

Beer tastes better from a bottle than a can. So that said, it's not just a psychological thing IMO.

Glass > Can ... everything on glass tastes better. People here use coca cola or pepsi cola for drinking and to clean their bathrooms. Cheaper for some than buy any other type of chemical bathroom cleaners .
So not psychological, true. |

Glass has a WAY higher specific heat capacity than aluminium, and a bottle's mass is far greater than that of a can. This means that your coke stays colder longer in a glass bottle than it does in a can, and everyone knows that cola-flavoured drinks of all kinds taste better chilled than warm...

Drink cans have a scent. Not sure if it's the coating or what but taste is mostly actually smell. If you hold an orange segment under your nose and drink coke it'll taste orangey. If you hold a metallic foul smelling can under your nose and drink from it what do you think will happen to the taste? ---- Infiniband can do more than just prevent lag |

Ou of curiosity have you ever tried distilled water because trust me, you can taste it. You may not be meant to so it may be the lack of taste tat you sense but you still get the feeling of taste. |
