Well reading this forum I see a lot of people not getting any implants at all anymore (just Like myself and 3 other corp peeps).
So is there any dev (Papa Smurf) that feels like giving us an answer why this is happening? Also It might be good to show them how many people have this problem, so please post underneath if you don't get any implants since the last patch anymore either. ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

I dont seem to be getting them either, according ot the stats from papa smurf, you should be eligable for one after so many important misisons from one agent well ive had several more important missions without getting one that i should have. kind of defeats the purpose of doing agent missions if u dont get the reward u should be getting.

Edited by: Chepe Nolon on 25/04/2004 20:55:49 Allthough, it seems like some agents give out and others don't. So far, I've gotten one implant thursday, one in my corp friday night (after the upgrade) and another one in my corp on saturday after she changed agents. (from federal freight to astral mining).
From Papa Smurf's post:
Quote: At 1/8 odds, if your agent happens to have all 8 important missions at his disposal, the total numbers would be about 276 normal + 23 important = 299 missions at 0 standings, or 161 normal + 23 important = 184 missions at 10 standings.

I havn't had an implant once, in about 200 missions, thats using the highest quality lvl3 Federation Navy agent. I doubt a highest quality lvl3 agent would not have the implant mission available, so something is wrong hu. Still happy to do her mission none the less :)

Edited by: Maidel on 25/04/2004 22:54:26 myself and 3 other corp mates have not received a single implant from our agent fo 4 days. Now as sad as this may seem I play for 8hrs a day + (im unemployed...). I used to get an implant every other day - but nothing for any of us. On a similar topic - we seem to have more variety of important missions than we used to - i feel that this has made the chance of getting an implant mission rarer.

Well if I remember correctly Papa Smurf did say they were gonna do some changes to implant calculations since it seems ALOT of agents were giving out implants to easily. He was wanting to see the price of implant stay high, so one way to do that is to lessen the supply.
People are getting implants, but not as often and anyways it is all random. Papa Smurf did say there is the chance that you could do 100 IMPORTANT missions and never get a implant missions.
So we shall see what we shall see

I've picked up one implant since the patch, normally in the same amount of time I can get 3 or 4 if I do agent missions all day.

Here's a math for getting an implant...
One implant every ~50 shuttles you get... ;) (calculate, and you'll see it's about right!)

I think that problem is that rewards especialy bonus rewards are most time rubbish. When I receive as reward 6 same BP. And after 20 missions I have 30 of this stupid BP (some backup array).

I'm having the same experience. I've been working the same agent for at least 2 months now & I've been getting implants in as few as 1 important mission & rarely more than 10 importants, but nothing for days now...
On a side note, the important mission rewards need tweeking. You either get an implant worth millions or you get crap. ALL important mission rewards should be better than normal mission rewards. Not just the rare implant rewards.
On a another side note, IMHO, they need to devalue implants. They should be more common, NOT less common. Their cost is a major deterrant to PvP combat. Add this to the cost of loosing your ship and you've got a huge dissincentive to PvP combat.
Without PvP this game is a huge bore.

Got 100 shuttles 5 shuttle BPs and still no implant. This is not worth my time.

I got an implant last evening from my agent, which is nice, but to be honest most of the bonuses I receive are BPC's which are frankly crap. I think my level 2 agent gave better bonuses but obviously the rewards were less and and no chance of an implant, so I stick with this agent.

Now that is a good point also. You do indeed get a crap bonus for an important mission, I really cannot see any difference with the bonus or the normal pay-out unless I would get an implant (did not happen yet).
So yes your standing get's higher but a higher standing only gives you a very slight advantage doing agent missions. ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

Important missions raise faction standing. Increased faction standing makes more agents available to you.
This is supposed to be more important to you than the individual mission rewards.
However, the devs could have missed the point.

I have just received my first implant since the patch, however this was only after switching to a different corp. The only reason i switched agents was because after 2 or 3 kill missions my agent said "sorry i have promised this mission to another pilot". I f i then asked him again he gave me a courier mission and kept on giving courier missions until i relogged. I moved corps and got an implant this morning after doing 2 important missions. I regularly received implants from my previous agent.....could it be they are looking at history ? and penalising those who have already had lots of implants ?

Yes implants must be more common and price should go down to level of current willpower and perception implants.
If implants will be rare and cost 20mil it will have heavy impact on PvP. PvP shouldn't be costly. Insurenace for ships did help but loose implants in fight is no no, so most ppl does avoid any encounter where theirs implants can be destroyed.

Edited by: VoxDei on 27/04/2004 12:05:52 You guys have read the sticky about implants, right? Lots of stuff in there...
Anyway, I got an implant on Sunday, so I'm happy it's working.
EDIT: This is essentially an unsupported conspiracy theory, but I'm also vaguely wondering if the number of people working for a given corp type affects the frequency with which implants are handed out to people working for that corp type. So if there are (for example) 50 implants of each type handed out per week, and there are 500 people working for military corps then only one in ten of them would get a perception implant that week, while OTOH if there are only 50 people going for intelligence implants then all of them would expect to get one implant per week.
Like I said, I have no evidence for that at all, it's a conspiracy theory. But I'm not doing navy missions (I want mem implants, they sell for a lot more), and I suspect most of you guys are.

You don't get mem implants for navy missions.. you get perception for navy. (perception implants are cheaper because it's quicker to do kill missions)
University is giving mem implants. Laboratories are giving intelligence implants. I'm not sure about will and charisma implants...

I was under the impression that the changes were to stop insta-complete missions. To stop people farming implants. I'm still getting implants at the same rate.
Also if you're into PvP you will insure your ship. Which means the only cost of PvP is mods and implants. if you can afford them in the first place then its not gonna be hard to replace them. Also implant loss is not a game stopper just a temporary set back. Ships and mods are what we play the game with. Implants are an add on for power gamers.

Battleships cost about 100 mil. Platinum insurance is about 30 mil. Platinum payout is about 100 mil. You do the math. that's a loss of 30 mil AND you have to shell out another 30 mil for insurance again...

From my point of view.
I need an intell implant so i go to my agent, i have over 6.0 standing with here, she's given me number of intell implants in the past few months.
Now, the mission reward sucks, the npc rats have more numbers, they drop junk loot, i get no implant mission = agents are waste of time now, get more money for chaining npc pirates in 0.0
So, i'm quitting agent missions until this is fixed.

Ever thought about, maybe it was broken, and now its fixed ? ;-) Agent's isnt supposed to give you just good stuff all the time. Or implants every important mission you get...

on a good or bad note, however you want to look at it. for 2 days in a row with the same agent, I would do missions all day long and right about when im getting tired and want to go to bed my agent tells me "i am sorry what i have is promised to another pilot" and will not give me another mission so i go to another agent same station, i do 2 missions and go to bed. first thing when i log in the next morning i go to my regular agent and BAAM!! i get a implant. i think its bhad that I do so many missions in one day and when it comes time for a implant my agent tells me what i have is promised to another pilot. well that just ticks me off

Some missions are good, some aren't. I had a recent mission which gave over 300k even before loot, and the loot contained 15 Superconductors (value 30k apiece). Had another recent one that dropped a 250mm Compressed Coil railgun. Also got given some T2 components yesterday (and I only did three missions yesterday). You need to take the bad ones to get to the good ones - giving up because you aren't making 400k per mission is short-sighted.

well i have the best level 3 agent available in a specific corp and my normal pay out is around 45k isk and most bonuses are 300 units of antibiotic. i sure would like to see 400k atleast in one mission, and btw been with this agent for nearly a week now doing a minimum of 20 missions a day.
also i have my skills that mattter with agents at lvl 3 as well

Megathron BPC = ~4.5mill Materials = ~68 mill (if you don't mine it) Insurance = 31 mill
Payout = 100 mill
= loss of about 3.5 million isk
Which is ~1/10th of what you quoted.
