Im curious and am thinking about using the phobos for romping aound low sec solo. I know HICs are ment to be nber-tacklers for a gang and on gates ect... But it just gives me that "thorax with a capbooster/tank" feeling and I just cant shake it.
You may say thay the obvious choice for an upscaled rax would be the Deimos, but the Phobos just has that extra slot (which happens to be a mid slot to boot!) I dunno... has any one ever had any success with one like this? BTW here is a setup im pondering-

Seems to me hat a 2nd magstab and 2 armor rigs might be better. Granted, you give up some speed, but you can probably fit neutons too?

It gains about 19 DPS over the first setup (up to 428 now), tanks 3% better on its lowest resist (EM at 75.85), and about 6% better on average, but all resists are lower than the first setup (EM/TH/KIN/EXP is now 75.8/84.3/92.1/79.6 vs 80.8/87.5/93.8/82.4). Top speed with MWD burning is down about 12% though (down to 1413m/s vs 1599 on first setup).
The DPS boost isnt enough to be significant, and the minor tanking boost is mitigated by the lower resists and therefore lower EHP. But I think its the big hit to speed that kills it for me.
Any other replies / sugestions / flames / comments?

I been toying with training prop lvl 5 so i can fly this, does it tank as well as the other 2 (cal//mim)?

I just finished prop jamming V, so I can now fly the phobos, but I'm finishing Hull Upgrades V so I use t2 resists first. I'd like to see some more setups, this is an interesting post!
