You have to admit this takes some beating. I came across HEXLANDER and took a bestower's worth of ore from the very full jet can he was mining into, and the following convo took place:

I took a risk when i got paged and the person offered to haul my ores! It turn out though that the person was very nice and helpful! This was at the beginning when i started play!
I do keep 2 sharp eyes open for haulers just floating around doing nothing, and then BANG take my container while im getting my indy!

When i was 1 day old, i got intouch with a hauler through industry channel to help me haul my ore....i filled a can of scord, she came, she took, she left.
She was an alt at the time, but then decided some time later to pirate with that char....I dont think she remembered me as we camped the JIP in ec until TZZZZT ZZZZAP SQUISH
She could not believe that i destroyed 55mils worth of battleship for the sake of 200ks worth of ore

Well, it sounds like this new player has learned a valuable lesson... so that's good... but on the other hand it also sounds like you caused one more new person to lose faith in EVE's player base. 
So I'm not really sure if you did him a service or did him harm in the end.

Mining into open cans, anywhere, is ASKING TO HAVE YOUR ORE STOLEN. There are far worse things that players will do to you in EVE, losing a can's worth of ore should be considered a very cheap lesson in common sense.
Wanna keep your ore? Use a secure can. Wanna keep your ore in a 0.8-1.0 sector? Use an indy.
All you people calling Tenaj scum need to wake up and realise you're playing a game set in a fiercely competetive, capitalist setting. It's not a game of hug-the-newbie. Go and play The Sims if that's what you're after.

Don't get me wrong here, if I'd convoed the guy offering to haul and then ripped him off I wouldn't think it particularly funny.
What's tickled me is the fact that i'd ALREADY delved into his can and warped away with a bestower full when HE CONVOED ME to ask what I was doing. The rest was detailed in my original post.
It should be clear to anyone who reads it that my offer to haul was said in complete irony AFTER I'D ALREADY STOLEN FROM HIM. The fact that he then took me up on it was, IMHO, hilarious.
For the record I have, in the past, given ore back to newbs and even bought one or two a secure can once we've started chatting
Personally though, I think in this case his naivety / stupidity doesn't merit any particular sympathy on my part. As a previous poster said in this thread, at the end of the day eve is a competitive game and if you're gonna be that dumb you'll get eaten alive.
Anyhow, you can all rest assured I'll be working in a system near you soon, looking for candidates for the ''dumb miner'' award for May. You never know, it could be you

Good, guarding that can while I had conn problem, that was BS, warping within a second as soon as I got back, exposed you right then. Also seen you warp to a station in pen, then jumping to another system(Chaven). Also sounding too good to be true, thatÆs another slip up.
Use to use a secure, but the password wouldn't stick, so I had a choice, go out in a secure which is completely useless, or nothing. At least in the open I can mine longer :). As for allowing you to take another bite, shouldn't have, but couldn't have, because of connection problem. Mining in an industrial ship is way too slow, however should have gotten out the hoarder quicker to get the ore. Only thing wasted was time, plenty of that around.
Oh yea before I go, why are you still in a noob corp(Imperial Academy)? Been there for 7, coming on 8 months now. Guess you like stealing from noobs a lot, pitty could use that talent of something more productive. tho if you like being lower that dirt, fine, if thatÆs what you want. Maybe you should be crowned the lowest person in the year, come the think of it. I wonÆt be doing it, you arenÆt worth it, and seeing how people seem to react to this, youÆve already gotten enough embarrassment to last you for a month or 2.

I told YOU I was in Chaven in case you were trying to set me up with a Kestrel. (you see, I still couldn't believe that you were truly as naive as you appeared, even then) I couldn't stop laughing when you actually went there.

I can understand Tenaj u may had had some satisfaction in ripping off my dear friend here, but can u really say that he has been the first person u've come accross who has made a mistake or has trusted a fellow player. I am sure Hex has not been the first to have made such a mistake. Yes it may have been amusing to u, but not really worth a post, especially not at the expence of others. In my mind this one should be removed.

The thing here is that Hexlander obviously is a trusting person. Apperently someone not fully prepared for the harsh realites that EVE can have in store.
So im not gonna say one bad word about Tenaj for taking Hex ore, casue atm that is a part of the game.
But trying to make fun and belittle a person like Hex here on the forums is just mean and low. He is only guilty of being trusty and maybe a little naive.
As someone already have pointed out, you are not Viceroy. This log is not funny. You, Tenaj, are not funny. Not even remotly. That leads me to wonder why you posted this in the first place.
Do you think that it will give you cred among the real pirates?
Where you hopeing some pirate you know of from the forums would post a 'lol' or 'rofl' in your thread, thereby giving you some kind of acceptance or cred?

The real problem here is that the ingame tutorials, while nice, and the documentation, are about as comprehensive an overview as giving someone a viewing of the 1950s classic "Our Friend The Atom" and expecting them to then run a nuclear plant.
All info about the game is gotten from the blind-leading-the-blinder method in the n00bcorp channels, which has, i've noticed, grown some old-timers who've stuck around in them largely to remain as unsung Pola- er, ISD, and they've earned a pint from me should i meet them  .
Anything else is only obtained by having it happen to you.
However, Tenaj, you bragging about this incident, or this convo - which has nothing particularly amusing to anyone with at least 3 functioning neurons - is on the order of to applauding oneself for the stupendous achievement of giving someone a wedgie . Yes, he certainly should have been more careful, and if he didn't know before he does now, and one day when you grow up you'll be horribly embarassed that you actually came here waving your flag about it

Recently a court in Beijing ordered a game developer to reimburse a gamer who suffered from hackers stealing game assets from him.
The ruling was judged fair as it was not simply the digital data, the 1s and 0s representing his games assets that were stolen, it was the product of the gamers time and effort that was stolen, this does have a RL monetary value.

Hi,
Im new to this game, very very new. However ive come across people like this before in numerous other online games. They still and always will disgust me.
The problem is, for every 100 good honest people, there will always be 1 person willing to go to any length to cause misery.
So what if one person didnt realise what was going on? The mere fact that you presumed wrongly and then exploited the fact that poor hex was experiencing technical difficulties was beyond reconcile. Indeed, you declare him to be a fool for being so gullable but I think you will find its yourself causing aggro.
If you are so great and wise that you feel the need to ridicule people in public for your own pleasure, then perhaps you would fare better in a different game thats solely PvP orientated. Since EnB shut down, this is the only space based rpg I know of thats remotely worth playing. How about you do us all a favour and stop making it worse for new people.
If I was looking at it from the people who run the games point of view, I would see you as a liability as your driving off people from playing. Its not acceptable nor clever to belittle people in public just because they showed a bit of trust.

The Hex guy was a little trusting maybe and agreed you are an ore thief, but I still dont see anything funny in the chat log and dont understand why you thought it was necessary to post it.
Personally I dont give a damn what people do ingame. As long as I get to shoot things Im happy. But that dont mean Im gonna embarass every guy whom I shoot.
On a more imporant note if you wanna be big and clever go hit the bship stripminers in high sec atleast they can afford to lose a little ore unlike the noobs.

I honestly don't understand all the histrionics you people are coming out with here. It's very, very simple. Use secure cans. We all have to learn that lesson and I honestly consider the loss of a couple of cans of ore a very cheap way to learn it.
As for "ore theft" becomming a crime punishable by the police I think what you're thinking of is if you attack a secure can in 0.7 or lower space to release it's contents - which is entirely different from taking stuff out of an OPEN can in secure Empire space.

Think he meant in the way of terminating your char. Hopefully not the other way around  .
Wether stealing from a can is legal or not, does'nt change the fact that ore theft is a petty profession.
And for the jettison can vs secure can. Imagine a roid belt if jettisoned cans were taken out of game. I.e, more or less loads of secure cans filling up empty space, making movement difficult, hunting nearly impossible without tickering CONCORD and not mentioning the more practical difficulties for miners using those fields, (hence secure cans capacity, moving roid fields after patch/refresh of fields, mining in 0.8-1.0 would be more or less effortless) etc.
