So, I've only recently started playing Eve again. I played quite a bit when the game was first released, but then quit for nearly a year.
Anyway, I like a lot of the changes, and dislike some, but the *biggest* change I've noticed - there seems to be no Pyroxeres asteroids! Anywhere!
Was it moved to lower security systems? I generally hang out in 0.6 when mining, and I remember that Pyroxeres used to be all /over/ the place. I haven't seen a single Pyro rock in the few weeks since I've started playing again.
I only notice this now, because I've picked up a couple of blueprints that require small amounts of Noxcium, and Pyroxeres used to be the only source of it available to me (although a very small source).
So far I've been getting by with recycling pirate loot, but that isn't quite meeting my demand.
So! Anyone know where I should go to find Pyroxeres, or Noxcium-yielding rocks? I've got a Thorax cruiser and an Iteron Mk II, but they're both lightly-armed, as I mainly rely on drones for asteroid belt combat. I may not survive in anything lower than 0.6.

After Castor, the roid distribution was changed. For example, 1.0 and .9 systems only have Veldspar and Scordite. Pyroxeres and Omber seem to be rare find nowadays. They are out there somewhere, you just have to look carefully. With the updated scanner, you should be able to find some a lot faster than before.
Of course back when I was mining, I didn't care much. My .1 system I was based in suddenly had tons of Kernite, Jaspet and Hemorphite, which made me quite rich . -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Oddly, I'm finding Omber everywhere I go (although the actual asteroids are fairly low-yield). I'm practically drowning in Isogen.
Except I don't *need* Isogen. :)
I notice you're Caldari, and I'm hanging around in Gallente space. Someone mentioned that Pyroxeres doesn't show up in Gallente space anymore?
If that's indeed the case, that'd just be *weird*.

Hmm, I'm mining tons of pyro in a .9.
Look around, and try to go to systems that are usually devoid of sentient life. If no one else is there, no one else is sucking up all the fat rocks of whatever everyone is demanding.

Actually the system was in Aridia, an Amarrian region. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

It depends a lot on the region of space you're in. There's loads of Omber in Minmatar space for example, but no Jaspet.

Hmmm. Okay, so ore is apparently based on region, eh? I guess this has to do with the "Ore Redistribution" I've heard so much about.
Is there a list somewhere of what regions contain which ores? Or is it a matter of dredging through the forums? :)

ok no flaming :P
how exactly do you get to a different races space?
I of course started in Minmitar space, but i dont really recall traveling through caldari space or ammarian space, just different regions. I'm currently based out of the Placid region...how would I go about searching for Pyrox, im in need of small quantities of Noxcium myself. Without honor and respect, there is only a bleak and desolate future. |

If you are looking for Pyroxeres or Plagioclase, there are plenty of those in various systems in The Forge region of Caldari space.....usually 0.6 and 0.7sec systems There is also a lot in the Amarr systems that have no stations in them, not far from Yulai.. Corp Chief Engineer |

Edited by: Kreeper on 29/04/2004 18:43:53 I have found that in the system im in...there is plenty of pyrox and scord and the famous veldspar.0.9 to 0.8. then 4 jumps away is plenty of kernite. but there is also a 0.4 and it has jaspet and kernite. so i geuss my point is to just look around and youll eventually find it. but make sure its not pebbles.... -----------------------------------------------

Pardon me, but Kor-Azor prime is Amarr space :) However in Amarr space Pyro can certainly be found in 0.5 & 0.6 systems.
