So i have just finished training to fly a hulk, and was wondering if some1 could help me for the set-up required to mine in high sec.
I am in a quiet enough system not to worry about Goons n there antics lol.
Also, if any1 would be helpful in suggesting which ores to mine. It Vled still the best or no? Sorry but i am a complete nub when it comes to mining.
Can tech II fit the ship (Is it worth using the mining crystals)?

Mine whatever you feel like, strip the belts to your hearts content.
An Ore Scanner with 15km range in mid is handy, 3 modulated strip miner II in high are a must. I would advice for T1 lenses though since they don't run out on you.
Low... depends on your style. Hard&Heavy ? Fit 2 Mining Upgrades. Luxereous&Lazy (while watching avi's or browsing the fora) 2 expanded cargohold II.
Rigs... I prefer cargohold optimizations to stretch it's 8000 m3 a bit further. Also leaves me the option of not can-mining but filling my hold and dumping it in station before warping back to the belt.
It allows a 15 minute mining-cycle before you run out of space.

My hulk setup for empire it pretty much generic.
3 t2 strip miner t2 crystal dejour
cap recharger 2, sm t2 sh boost, em, therm resists.
t2 mlu,t2 expanded cargo
2 cargo rigs.
5 Hammerhead 2 drones
I don't use a scanner as i have dedicated hauler alt that totes in an iteron and typically keeps one fitted on that.
I think t2 crystals are well worth it at least specializing in one or two ores to start with.

My fitting
3x t2 strips with t2 crystals
on med only the roid scanner counts, hulks tank can hold easily any rat attack. But on remaining slots i usually fit 2x t2 cap recharger and sensor booster so that i can lock on the rats before the come even close
and 2x mining laser updgrade 2's on lows
drones:
5x t2 mining drones
5x t2 light drones depending of rat dmg
rigs:
2x drone mining augmentor's
Dont forget the mining implants if you want to maximize the experience :D
Edit, about the ore. I dont know about the latest prices especially if you are only mining for the max ISK. But with Kernite or Omber you really cant go wrong.

As for the mineral prices right now, the most valuable ores to mine are (assuming empire)
Veldspar
Kernite
Jaspet
Hemorphite
Plagioclase
Veldspar involves a CRAPLOAD of hauling both the minerals and ores, so your actual ISK / hour will be lower with Veld even if the income is on par with the other ores. For maximum ISK/per you should aim for Kernite and Jaspet. Omber is a bit on the low side at the moment due to the low prices on Isogen. If you can lay your hands on Crokite or Hedbergite, you'd make a fair deal of ISK from them. But those are generally just found in 0.0.

I dopn't think hauling will be much of a problem as i have and itty V wiith roughly 50,0003.

Do mining cyrstal II's break often? How long of use do they have before they die?

t1 hobgoblins are able to take care of any 0.5 rats with minimal skills (providing you can put out five of them). Just pull in your mining drones and launch your hobs. Keep on mining, once the 'rats agro you the drones will do the rest.
Laser crystals last about 70 cycles, but I'm just giving a ballpark figure here.
If they get downto 95% damage, just load a spare into cargo and it will automatically fit itself once the old one is finally shot. Not sure if you lose the cycle and the ore though...
