Need help with a little group of people

Silverlancer	Posted - 2004.04.26 12:26:00 - [1] We have a little group of alt **ers after us. Declared war, and shooting at our ships. Quite annoying actually. Makes it much more challenging to move thruogh empire space. Most of what they use are frigates and a single interceptor, piloted by Viceroy . Fun stuff. Now, here's my question. What do we do to get rid of these ers? We have enough ravens to kill them 500 times over... but they're flying frigates. They either run or die and buy another. They're alts, so there's not much we can do. The problem is that the only ways I see to get rid of these lamers is to do something JUST AS LAME (using Velator shields in empire space to get them sec hits from their missiles, reforming the corp over and over until they get bored declaring war). Now if anyone has an idea... we'd love to try it! We're definently not afraid of PvP and have the cash to bash the pulp out of them--but just as an example, lets try to haul an indy through yulai. They're camping the gate. We have two battleship escorts. So what? They fire a ton of cruise missiles at point blank range, kill the indy, grab the loot, and as soon as the Bships lock, run. (This didn't actually happen, just an example). Also, if you mercs think you can stop these **ers, I have quite a lot of cash on the table... . And on the topic, none of us have ran from you, we've downed lots of your ships, podded plenty of your pilots, inflicted around 170 million isk worth of damage in 2 days and we dont plan to stop any time soon. You dont have the power to stop us. You're hiding in Period Basis mining bistot at the moment while your corpmembers are suffering the consenquences of your inflated ego. If only you had the common courtesy and sense to not directly insult and mouth off people who you didnt know. Goodbye. -

Only hear 1 side of the story, then join the general bleating. b. Have no real intention of lending any weight behind their words in-game. I just call 'em me-too's and leave it at that, Mr. SL was a mee too as Jeb points out - still nothing in-game.

I threated MF before I even knew it WAS MF. Once I knew I took it back because MF owns and even you know that . Second of all, how did I cirumvent the filter?

You can't go after their main characters, even if you know who they are - those guys aren't at war with you. You can't defent your indies, because there's simply no way of doing so: cruise missiles will destroy them before your escort has time to do anything about it. We've lost a few Incursus; they've lost lots of money, a few ships, and by the look of things any shred of credibility they had remaining. The interesting thing here is that you know who the main behind this alt war is - If you have the combat ability to tackle his corp, why dont you declare against them? While I agree alt harassment is lame, in this case it seems that your opponents are using alts and frigates to humiliate you, not to prevent retribution. No matter how many times you kill them it costs them next to nothing, and they're ready for pvp again in under 15 minutes. You can fight them sure, and you could totally school them sure, but they won't stop until they want to stop. Basically you're at war until they get bored, and there really isn't anything you can do about it. For a pvp corp this might not be a bad thing, after all frigate fights are fun, but for noob corps or corps who don't want any part of pvp it can easily be enough to make you quit the game.

Get you some frigates and learn real fighting. Not sure what you call lame, my definition of lame would be trying to kill frigates in battleships and still asking for help. Btw. Its really not my business, i do what im told to do. One thing i can tell for sure: MF pilots are not ALTs. Sure some may have two accounts, but thats true to abt 30-40% of the playerbase. As far i can remember, silverlancer insulted quite some people a few days ago here on the forums, and this rather much sounds like some sort of vendetta against him, his family and his pet (the virtual ones of course) ;) Would all these people have no reason to go after him other than their own enjoyment, that would be griefing. But at the moment its more like taking revenge for some insults. As i see, the out-of-game diplomatic abilities of a person are just as important - or even more important - in EVE as the in-game roleplaying and performance. The more friends you make, the more successfull you will be. I hold no grudge against my targets, and I usually end up giving them PvP advice with a nice conversation after fighting, simply playing the game. In this case, SilverLancer decided to forget that it was a game, and preferred to insult me in a pathetic manner. Now I'm personally going to seek his demise until he publicly apologizes for his rude behaviour. I dont really care when people insult me, and I rarely go out of my way to make an example, but SilverLancer has earned a special place with his attitude. I'd normally just laugh, but since i'm in a vengeful mood, I'll hunt as well. So, whats the problem? He brought it on himself with his diplomatic abilities. -
