I'm curious if the speculators are about to go crazy with this convergence of the MASS Bott banning & Hulkageddons curtailing of mining |

Some people belieive the diminishment of drone mining due to super cap changes has already started to cause an effect to the Trit spike (aswell as other minerals). Sure Hulkageddon is in the mix also. Waiting for numbers on mining bots, but so far some NPC kills graph from ratting bots seems way down.
If your opportunist about this however, any reduction in competition will encourage the mining wage to rise as a result, even if short to medium term. Be interesting to see if it means more people will be encouraged to mine to help restore any potentially perceived imbalances. Unsure if the rise in industrial shipping prices is related to increased actvities, panic buying or losses or just trade due to it being a percieved future change in the market. Especially if people are stockpiling.
Of course we could really do with some real figures from CCP on this to help determine what might be causing it, especially with a multitude of potential causes. |

Since if there isnt a significant number of mining bots involved it might not even cause any noticable effect.
i HOPE THE PERMA BANNING OF EVIL DAEMON BOTTERS ( & subsequent rise in the price of trit ) CONVINCES THE RUSSIAN DRONE regioneers to see they got it good & keep up farming of the areas to keep Trit & minerals stabilized since they'll see there is value in them thar Drone poop hills :)

I'm curious why Hulkageddong hasn't started is it really dependant on 1 person whom has been AFK for 2 months? |

That's pretty much the issue right there, It's my belief that even if the bots do all get eliminated we are still going to get the problem that EVE is a highly inflationary game and has a highly inflationary currency, the ISK and the items can all be generated from thin air. I think we'll definitely at least see an improvement in the mineral and ore prices but overall I doubt it will make a lot of difference.

If 'Bot-ageddon' is still having an influence in 3 weeks we can review this. It isn't the first cleansing we have seen. I'm not trying to take away from what CCP are doing, thier hands are tied but I just don't see this having a lasting impact. |

Hulkageddon still lives on, only in a different fashion. We still got ad-hoc gankers, career gankers, hell, even who corps and maybe an alliance or two devoted to ganking. It's not going to stop because one person went AWOL. The only difference between Hulkageddon and every other gank that happens outside of it is that you don't hear much about the career gankers. Some do brag, but they get drowned out by the flood of random threads of silly things.
If anything, the spike in tritanium will obviously mean miners will come out more often. But that also means more targets for the gankers. Welcome to Eve Online. Don't expect people to be nice to you. |

TBH, trit prices won't skyrocket unless there is another huge war. Trit prices are fueled by capital ship losses. |

Tritanium at 10 ISK/u would mean that Veldspar is worth 300-330 ISK/m3, allowing a *solo* hulk pilot to earn 30-33M ISK/hr (add 40-65% if they have orca support). At that level of income, mining becomes competitive with L4 mission running and players would probably flock to it again as a revenue source.
I doubt that hi-sec ore will get much above 200 ISK/m3 (it's around 150-155 right now) long-term. But this is uncharted territory due to the addition of all of the new revenue streams over the past 2-3 years (Planetary Interaction, Incursions, W-space). Plus the removal of things like buying shuttles to turn into Tritanium, the reduction of module drops, and possibly a lessening of the drone drops.
There's a confluence of events, maybe all adding up to a perfect storm.

Trit is getting a little pricy. Not by much but my builder who make capitals uses a lot of it so even a 0.01 rise adds up.
I've actually started buy orders in noob systems for Veld and Scordite. Still a good (if somewhat slow) method of getting it cheap.

Buy-order competition on the region-wide scale got a lot fiercer about 2 months ago when prices first started to rise. Used to be that you could get bulk ore for 20-30% below market value (after being refined), now the margins are down to 5-10% below mineral value.
Everyone is looking to cut costs wherever possible as a hedge against a downturn. |
