I've been doing frig belt piracy in 0.0 for a while, but it's not working really well because there are always bigger ships doing the same as me. Is going to 0.0 for solo belt piracy a good idea?

I'm afraid a frigate doesn't do frig piracy that well in 0.0.
You'll have to cut off your ********* and grabb a Nano hac I'm afraid

Ishtars seem to be the favorite, along with vagas.
However, a curse is fine too.

I use an Ishtar for my 0.0 belt piracy and heavy neuts + smartbombs have yet to kill me. Fit a remote medium armor rep and micro manage your drones if they shoot them. If you use the right type of drones most of the time the target dies before the smartbombs take out your drones. For the heavy neut just cap inject. Works well for Ishtars, not sure about Vaga's though because I don't recall the cookie-cutter setup using cap injectors.

ok, il help you on frigate stuff in 0.0
i fly frigates in 0.0, alot.
i go out to places where i can shoot stuff with my frigate, try to search a good place
frigates are not as fast as the good nano stuff, and mostly not as strong, but for 1 nano hac with full t2 fittings you can buy a lot of frigates
also, since your just a frigate, people dont expect much(and some might risk staying in the belts), sure, you wont beat ratters, but those miners and haulers should be carefull.
frigates in 0.0 are more of a team ship, get a few friends in frigates and you could take down those bigger ships
(and some advice, stay away from assault frigs, they may be t2 frigs, but its not worth it, exept maybe minmatar ones, i never flown those)
frigate solo things in 0.0 is possable, but takes time to find good targets...

I've had a few close calls in my rifter. Mostly though I seem to have people scan me down if I'm not moving fast enough through the belts and gank me in much larger ships.
The above posts are right. Frig piracy is tough, but doable. Just be very very picky with your targets and systems. Look for miners, haulers, and n00b cruiser pilots.
Vexor's with mining drones and golden beams are great things to blow up.
Gangs are your best friend and your worst enemy. Hell anything else out there is pretty much your worst enemy. Finding targets can take hours if you're playing it uber safe but don't be afraid to lose ships (I'm going on 16 losses to 1 kill so far).

You have to use a softer term or all the "anti-pie" 0.0 dwellers heads will explode when they realize that shooting that flashy red ratting raven (easy kill) is the same thing that lowsec pirates do.
