I'm about to create a toon whose intended primary function will eventually be heading a 50 to 100 person corp and perhaps even a small alliance if the cards fall that way. The toon's name relates directly to the name of the corp so I want to get the creation right the first time as if I use the name and screw up the character with poor skill point choices I'll be stuck with it.
The function of med corp CEO is a year or two away so there is no real sense in maxing corp skills at the outset. A more immediate need would be someone to handle all of the trading duties of the seed corp (currently one toon) and to put into more profitable play all of the ISK generated by primary Mining/Industry toon.
For this reason trading gets the early emphasis and after those skills are maxed out in terms of needed utility the character will migrate to corp skills.
One downside of using a Mac is that EveMON, EveHQ, and other skill fitting/planning utilities do not work for me or I would likely work out the answer for myself.
My initial character is a Caldari in Lonetrek so my plan as of now is to go

Cha: 8
Mem: 4
Int: 5
Wil: 8
Per: 9
Obviously the Memory and Intelligence are too low and I would use my starting additional skill points to bring them up a bit therey by creating a fairly balanced character with no drastic area of emphasis.
a set of +3 chips is also in store for this toon in the next month.
This config gives me relevant skills of
Trade 5
Daytrading 4
Diplomacy 5
Broker relations 2
Leadership 3
Negotiation 3
Retail 4
Social 4
So there is my current plan, please feel free to point me to any links or comment at will keeping in mind that my mac will not run windows based eve utilities.

You do know that you can reuse a characters name immeadately after you delete it? So if you screw up your character creation, you can always redo it. The only loss is any extra training you have put into it. Originally by: gammatude

Using your the bonus 5 points which you have not included in the above, you could balance out to:
Cha: 8
Mem: 7
Int: 7
Wil: 8
Per: 9
Keeping your attributes balanced is generally advisable, and these attributes are closely balanced.
You could make an marginal improvement to corp managment skill training times if you selected a character with a bit higher base memory. However, once you factor in the +3 implants and 4/3 learning skills, you would only see a ~10% improvement in training time if you had Mem 9 instead of Mem 7.

Actually I did not know that a name could be reused. This makes this pretty much a non dilemma then as the need for the optimal start just got nerfed.

Try Gallente as the CEO alt. You can get high attributes for the corp and trade skills when you need to train them, as well as start with Corp Management 5 and Ethnic Relations 4.
