Very cool project. Though I'm sure they're covering up the construction photos of the trap doors in Hilmar's office which ejects people into the tank, which will be full of sharks.

I ended up spending my whole downtime reading that forum thread.
..got to admit it's pretty fascinating.  And I get annoyed that it's not finished yet, such a big project and we can't yet see the end of it.

I bet that CCP is going to hide the source code to eve in a wooden chest on the floor of the aquarium, decorate with human skulls and only have red-bellied piranhas in the aquarium.

I¦m looking into keeping small octopus in a huge tank, I miss having pets and they don¦t sell reptiles here It might have to wait another year or so, I don¦t think it would be nice to establish a tank and then you have to move appartments in half a year.
On the CCP tank, it will be awesome and I¦m sure Arnar will post loads of pictures once it¦s ready and maybe attach a webcam if its doable. (maybe nice for downtime?) |

Have you ever tried strapping a camera onto a waterballoon? Well it is similar in terms of the technical challenge to doing it to an octopus, except the octopus actively fights back. |

Also make sure you have a heavy lid on the tank, otherwise they have been known to take walks, and that could be embarrassing if they have a camera strapped to their heads. |

Well it will be a long time before I get one because my lease is not permanent so there is a chance I have to move after a year, and that is a lot of hassle and I hate it to put myself and any pet to so much stress if I can prevent it by more patience ( and saving up for allllll the eguipment, Im something of a responsible pet owner. Also Arnar would kill me if I take octopus for a walk in the CCP tank to stretch its arms) |

You do NOT want to move fishtanks if you can avoid it. Last time I moved I tooks 3 tanks with me, took 2 days and my friends are still not talking to me after that. 8 22 gallon (US) rubbermaid containers filled with water and rock is not fun to move.
Also, if you are someone who gets very attached to their pets the octopus is not the way to go, the species appropriate for aquariums only live a year or 2. |
