Hana Lena Gallente Federal Navy Academy	Posted - 2008.05.01 13:55:00 - [1] EVE jumped from its average of 20-30 thousand each night to 1,000,000? Not saying 1,000,000 accounts no I'm saying 1,000,000 that played every night. For the sake of realism lets say that this happened over the course of 2 weeks. Would the effect on the game be positive or negative? What would happen to the economy? What about 0.0? what would happen to these forums? (/me shudders at the thought of thousands of "Its not fair posts") _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ADHD + Dyslexia = BAD SPELLING! Proud to be in the FNA (for over a year) and not be a alt!

The economy would be a LOT better, but they would need to tweak a lot of aspects when it comes to basic resources to make it work or else we'll have huge shortages and inflation. I mean things like bigger asteroid belts that respawn faster, moon mining gives more, more rats in the belts, etc. ...

BUT, lets say EVE grew so fast that CCP could not add new and better technology either fast enough, or there exsist good enough hardware to this day, then they might reconsider setting a stop on new players joining. wheter they like it or not. That or adding new servers, but that is also unthinkable since EVE is one universe. That have always been the idead. It's kind of silly to say "what if it happened in 2 weeks - that's not feasible. But if it happened over a couple of years, then it would be great. All that cash available for development and bug fixing.... CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that.
000Hunter000 Gallente Missiles 'R' Us	Posted - 2008.05.01 17:59:00 - [13] the game would go to hell, cuz chances are several 100k of those will be former WoW players and 12 year old trolls with daddies CC. when i started, eve was allready a cold harsh universe but in another way, the pirates were real pirates, who ransommed u, but atleast had the decency to let u go after u paid, but in empire people were still willing to lend u a hand cuz at the time u wouldn't have to worry too much about beeing loftied or any other dirty trick. Sadly now it has come to a point where u simply trust nobody exept a handfull of people u know and i blame all those ****s with no social life for that, who feel the need to make everybodies ingame life as miserable cuz they can't hack it in the real world. I still love this game but personally, even though i know it would prolly be bad for the game, i think it could do with 20k less people tbfh!!! _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

I remember those days too. They've gone forever now I remember as a noob, I got ganked in lowsec while NPC ratting in a frigate and the guy gave me a million isk to replace my ship and fittings. He didn't have to cos I had enough isk to do it but the gesture made me feel more like going back and having a go at PVP myself. Now, they gank you in lowsec, laugh at you for being a noob and leave you feeling like you really want to stay in highsec forever. Then they moan that there's not enough targets in lowsec for them to shoot at and offer ideas on the forums to try to force people into lowsec. -- Sig design in training: Remaining time 30 years 20 days, 4 hours, 10 mins, 15 seconds.

There's not much to lose in this respect. On the other hand I've met some fantastic people in this game whom I'm perfectly happy to call friends. I accumulate the good guys in my address book and the chat channel where I hang out, and I ignore the idiots, lamers and smackers. So in that respect, more people in the game = more good people for me to meet. Sure, 90% of them will be idiots, but, well... Sturgeon's Law, you know? CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that.
