Hi I just got back to EVE after a long break and I just noticed that my pc like freezes when I try to fire up more than 1 client at a time now that I have applied the newest patch.
Is this working as intended or do any of you guys know a workaround?
Kinda sucks to own 2 accounts if you only can play one at a time now.
Thanks!

I'm on vista...my comp locks up whenever i start even one instance of eve...additionally i get a lot of lag in streaming music when im running eve. I don't know what the deal is, i also used to be able to run 1-2 accounts without these problems.

It is not working as intended.
You should be able to run multiple clients. I know that I do.
The problem is likely more specific to you computer set up. Try double checking your video drivers and general operating system health.

i found moving the windows page file off the main drive onto another drive gave me a 150% boost to FPS and allowed me to run 3 clients classic style again. V8I

What are the specs of your computer? When was the last time you played EVE with multiple accounts? Are you running EVE in Classic or Premium? |

Are you using the new Trinity Premium Graphics they use a lot more resources, you might want to try lowering the cache to normal or low under the graphics tab.
I am using WINXP 32 an over clocked Q6600 and 7800GTX and even though I can run multiple accounts I use the Classic Version when running missions.
Computer specs would help.

There are a couple things you can try. If one of the accounts is a trial account they will not work together. This was purposely done by CCP to prevent some issues.
Now both accounts are paid for. I seem to have better luck using 2 different copies of the Eve Classic Client one in directory eve the other In EVE2 directory. Note when you patch one it will shut down the other.
If you have a dual core or more processor set affinity for each instance of the game. Make sure your OS is updated, don't depend on auto update. There was a particular bug with AMD processors that you had to patch from AMD to fix but it may have already been fixed by CCP, MS or someone a while ago. I don't remember anyone having issues with it in the last year.
The new high definition graphics client can be dual boxed but for me at least it effects other graphic applications. A TV card in my case gets really jumpy. So when I dual I usually use 2 classics or one of each.
Make sure the sound is off in at least one instance. I used to have an issue with this using a Creative Labs Audigy 4 card, but that problem went away when I upgraded to a Razer AC-1 card.
It would help if you posted system specs.
