For those of you here on eve-o who are new to RSKY, here's a quick rundown of our history:
RSKY was started on the goonswarm alliance forums as an IPO back at the end of January. RSKY is run by myself as well as a few other industrialist goons. RSKY's core businesses are JF construction, where we were one of the first in the Galaxy to have one ready. Moon mining, where we mine 10 chains across many different advanced materials. And our newest addition is T2 module invention and T1 ship hull construction. In exchange for managing all these activities, the managers are entitled to a 50% cut of all monthly earnings. My stated goal for RSKY is a 15% monthly return on capital, however we have not yet met that goal. It still early though, and earnings have increased substantially each month since we started.
The initial IPO price was 30m/share, however they have since been exchanging shares between goons for much more than that. One word of caution if you are interested in buying shares; goons are a wily bunch so I would recommend using a trusted 3rd party or keep bugging CCP for a shares exchange contract. Also [RSKYB] is the ticker of our dividends shell-corp, accept no imitations.

As a goonfleet member, i bought into this venture early and it's been quite profitable for me. I have 200 of these shares that I will sell for 50 million isk apiece. It's slightly above the NAV, but when you take into account the growing assets and growing dividends, I think it's well worth it. Just send me "Asian Logan" money for your shares from the character you want the shares sent to. In the transaction description, I want you to write the number of shares you are purchasing. So if you're buying 20 shares, you should send me 1 billion isk and have "20 shares, 1 billion" in the transaction description. I hope you enjoy this company as much as I do!

RSKY itself is not a scam. We're a real business just like many others here. Goons trying to sell you shares might be scamming, they might not, but don't ever say I didn't warn you.

I wonder, would you consider any kind of external 3rd party auditing? Note: I'm not offering. I won't be around to even consider offering.

I have some shares. I would sell 15 of them. yes it's a real business. yes goons suck. I bet if one of you guys paid for Chribba to look at the financial data, Sophie would be okay with it.
That said, I want to sell 15 shares. They're going for 50 - 60 on the goon forums, so I'll sell them for 65 here to any non-goon, 58 to any goon. You're welcome to use Chribba as an intermediary, but I'm not paying his fees. (What does he charge anyways?) If you want them, eve mail me in game and we'll do it how you want to. Either you confirm that I still have a share for you and you send me money, I send you share. Or we go through Chribba.

I've been in touch with Selene D'Celeste about auditing. I'll probably have her do a quick sanity audit soon, just check over our assets, and transactions to see that we're a real corp, but I'm not going to make her verify to the penny everything either. I'm keeping my eye out for the next expansion and if I see something that I think we can take advantage of we will likely sell some more shares. If that does take place we will submit to a very thorough audit.

I would not promise a more thorough audit. No need to be disclosing anything more than you have to... at all. Just make the effort to have some level of credibility that you are really in business. That the pdf you've provided isn't just a bunch of numbers tossed onto the net... and you'll likely find little trouble gathering investors.

Even if this investment is not a scam then:
1. Was the original IPO for 75B? 2. You have lost NAV per share 3. The current return for investors seems to be either 4 or 4.1% depending on NAV calcs per month
With these comments I ask:
1. Why should you get 50% profits when the business is not performing to target (Fastlearner earns his through excellent returns) 2. I can get a better return per month in a bank account (5.6% per month/1.4% per week in Fury) 3. No reputation of your toon on MD 4. General reputation of GOONSWARM
Now this may be legitimate but it is not a very good investment!

Well for one, an IPO is not an IPO unless it is actually that. An Initial Public Offering. Just because shares were offered around Alliance Members only does not make it an IPO.
And second, I'm not really going to buy this for one second. I'm not saying that RSKY doesn't do anything Sophie has claimed. I'm sure there is a big POS chain, JF, T2 and T1 ship construction effort going on.
What seems incredibly unlikely is for the first time ever ^1 this business comes here saying "hey, this is what we do, this is how much money we make, just to let you know in case one of our members offers to sell his shares which were bought for 30 mil and might be worth more".
Next, out steps Asian offering 200 of these shares at 50 million a piece ( 10 billion isk!), and a dubious first time poster buys 10 almost immediately.
Sorry, this is nothing but a scam of the highest order.
^1 Go on, google RSKY and "Eve Online", you won't get a thing to do with this business, even less if you add IPO to your search

The corp was originally formed as a small moon mining operation. During the IPO phase the shares of this corp were sold at a slight premium to the existing assets that were already in place which explains the NAV difference.
I'm calculating the returns based off the 30m per share original IPO price when I talk about my personal targets. Based on that we had an 11.66% return this past month, which is actually very good for what else is out there. Unfortunately for you share prices have increased substantially since the IPO, so its doubtful you'd be able to get quite as good a return. You are correct about us not meeting targets yet, and it is something I am very focused on. If we do not begin meeting them I may lower the amount of the manager's cut to compensate.
I can't fault you for the reputation, I really am a novice to MD, but I do have an excellent reputation among goons, not that it counts for anything here.

Given the modest amount of skepticism I've received, do you blame me for not even attempting to originally sell shares here in MD? At least now I've got infrastructure in place as well as a history of earnings that can back me up.
About the guy selling 200 shares...impossible. During the IPO we limited investors to 50 shares a piece because I wanted to spread the wealth around vs. letting one guy get really rich, so unless someone has been buying a lot of shares without me knowing, I'd say you are correct in your assumption that it was a scam.

Don't get me wrong there, I'm not saying you were wrong in offering it privately initially, but that doesn't make it a public offering. As far as I'm concerned, it's still just that.
A private offering has many perks such as no need for security, for one. If you were to scam the members of Goonswarm I'm certain there'd be dire repercussions for you. To suddenly say "Right, members of my alliance have shares and the business is running, I'm going to make things public" doesn't work.
Quote: About the guy selling 200 shares...impossible. Well, you did say trading had been going on between Goonswarm members. But my point isn't whether or not he's being realistic, it's the fact that ONE MINUTE after you post this, someone comes here with 10 billion worth of shares for sale, and SIX MINUTES after that a one day alt who nobody has heard of here comes out and buys 10 of them.
Separating the seller from you for a moment, for a previously privately-traded privately-run business to get a buyer for shares being sold by someone within 7 minutes of this isn't kosher, for:
1. How does someone selling an unknown business get a *public* buyer (and a fresh alt to boot) to the tune of 500mil within 7 minutes. 2. If the alt is actually a real buyer, how do they know about this launch without visiting the MD forums? Everyone here posts with an alt by accident occasionally, this guy would be no different.
To give you the benefit of the doubt, it may be that your shareholders are just all elaborate scammers, it's no fault of your own. *However*, you've clearly announced your business results publicly to stimulate sales for your shareholders. The fact they come out and try to scam straight off the bat is bad for you, and makes it look like you worded them up beforehand that this was going to happen.
I'll be interested in a small amount of shares if 100% security can be arranged for their value, no more and no less. Audits simply won't cut it for me for the simple fact that I'm certain this business *does* run, and has all the figures to prove it, but this doesn't inherently make it a safe investment. Many more ways to scam than just not run an actual business.

2 things:
1. What was the total IPO value. i.e How many shares were sold in total and what value (correct me if it is not all 30m)
2. The total return MAY have been 11.66%, BUT that means a return to investors of 5.33% after your salary. Also you do not pay out all that 5.33% as you retain some for the corp.
Investors will earn UNDER 5.33% per month. No one will touch this at that level even with a good rep. |

1. We started at the beginning of February with 68.2b, or about 27.3m per share.
2. The return I'm talking about is after the manager's cut has been paid out. The reason we retain some of the earnings is because I'm constantly growing the business each month. |

Ehhhh... I'm of mixed opinions on this. Based on what I've seen so far from Sophie, and his willingness to get an audit, I'd say it might be possible this is a legitimate business that might even pay dividends. However, what's to stop you from just running away with investor isk etc? No security of any kind, in a thread where the first posts are a scam attempt, with the OP warning that share owners will probably try to scam you. You'll have to forgive me if I contain my enthusiasm. Why don't you just continue to sell to goons... ? |
