Deathstar, not even a contest.
Well except that the titan could cyno out.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Deathstar, no problem.
that is, of course, unless it's Chuck Norris' Titan. Or, just Chuck Norris floating in space and calling himself a titan. But then again, he wouldn't call himself a titan, he would call himself Chuck Norris. And then he would crush the Deathstar with an anti-gravity roundhouse.

Deathstar would win hands down as shown in the show it can :-
a) kill planets b) kill individual ships
That means it could hit a titan and have enough power to 1 shot it.

Edited by: RigelKentaurus on 01/05/2008 19:53:58 Since the main weapon of the Death Star is much much smaller than the AoE of a doomsday, I think a titan could easily melt it. So I think the one who fires first wins. _________

The Death Star can move between systems without help. Titans are *****es.

Hmm i got to say that the deathstar has really bad tracking speed and only one high slot, since it had a really bad time tracking its turret to the rebel base in episode 4. But then again in episode 6 it had a remote shield booster on a planet that whould be cool.

Come on now. All it takes is one little missile down the vent shaft and the deathstar goes boom.
Titan wins, unless the Tie fighters probe it out after it logs off.

and seeing how missiles in eve ignore solid matter completely thye could just fly straight through the deathstart to the core. |

Death Star, no contest. Someone said the Titan might melt the Death Star if it shot first. That'd be a silly thing to state. Sheer mass, shielding and structure on the Death Star would hardly dent it.
On the otherhand, the Death Stars super weapon is strong enough to take out a planet. The Titan, being far less in mass then a planet would not stand a chance.

Death Star one-shots cap ships and medium-sized planets; has roughly 40,000 turrets to take out multi-crew ships; and 800 tractor beams capable of holding medium-sized ships in place. It carries 7,200 TIE fighters, 2,500 blastboats and 6 assorted capships. It has a diameter of 900km and if a supercap ship bumps into it, the supercap explodes while dealing slight surface damage to the Death Star.
A Titan is roughly 15km long and can't even one-shot itself.
Call me a pessimist, but I think the Titan in screwed.

I meant the titan would melt the Death Star main weapon, not the Death Star itself. _________

Well now... it seems like a straightforward thing doesn't it? Deathstar nails titan...however... What about an EMPIRE titan? I think that would be much more difficult for the deathstar.

The Death Star's primary weapons has a very limited firing arc, and it cannot turn very quickly.
1. Warp Titan in very close proximity behind the deathstar 2. Fire DDD device 3. Deathstar absorbs close to half of the entire force of the DDD device, causing massive structural damage and most likely disrupting it's power, rendering the superlaser incapable of firing 4. Titan wins

if a properly tanked battleship can tank the DDD, then a deathstar can surely tank it.
But if deathstar can destroy a planet, no ship is going to tank that.
Besides, deathstar looks way bigger

Pre-req is every existing skill in Eve with four exceptions to lvl5. The exceptions are the four Titan skills, those need to be at lvl6.
If you have those skills, CCP will give you a Death Star, you won't even need to buy it.

No, that has nothing to do with tracking and more waiting for the planet to rotate so that the rebel base was facing the Imperial navy.

The second Death Star could focus its beam onto a single Mon Cal capital ship and destroy it instantly. The Titan DDD can be tanked by a properly fit Interdictor, a craft only two or three times the size of a commercial airliner. Death Star wins in terms of raw power, but at least the Titan doesn't have an unguarded weak point that destroys the ship as soon as it takes a single hit there.

The titan pilots computer could be considered a weakpoint

I guess that, in theory, given the various weak points of the Death Stars, the Titan could win if someone shuttled down and turned off that planetary force field projector.
However, as we all know, if it did, some nasty camper would randomly appear and gank the shuttle. Shield stays up. Death Star wins.

the ibis wouldn't be on grid by the time the deathstar appeared due to a strange alarm siren coming from the pilots speakers (strange mystery indeed)

The deathstar if the tracking on the ray aint too bad.
If its ba like in really bad! Then maybe the titan. A day or so of circling the death star and DDing it every hour. Then maybe.
That is if we only involve the death stars DD and the Titans DD. If we start involving other units carried by these entities, then maybe - yea - the death star.

I don't think any of the Titan classes have an exposed pod housing. The pod is probably located behind a kilometer of the ship's internal superstructure at least.
