It is only through the efforts and sacrifices of warriors such as Admiral Ljarl that our Republic stands proud today.

Yet another of Midular's lackeys rewarded for acts of shameless inequity. It saddens me to see that the Republic continues rot at it's very core.
Look not to the fleet in your hour of need my friends - I fear you will find only disappointment.

Were it not for the Defiants, and his role in dealing with them, there would be no discord here on how we treat this promotion. So, since the issue is still raw to some, I will ignore it, and wish the Admiral well on his new post, and hope he does it the same honor he did his others.

Though i have my doubts about him owing to his role in the murder of Karishal, I feel more hope about the fact that Shakor helped with the promotion. Another strong Brutor in such a key role adds strength to his political faction and diminishes Midular further. Politically I can't help but feel that she missed a step with this one.

I find this worrying. A strong Republic Fleet is essential.
This might draw the wrath of some, but I believe it is in the best interests of the Amarr Empire that the Republic is strong. A weak Republic is a Temptation to use force, which is a backwards step, as shown by The Lord with the defeat of the Empire by the Jovians. The Lord clearly shows that the use of force belongs in the past, the future belongs to something different.
At the same time, a strong Imperial Navy is required, to ward off idealists seeking to end slavery by force, as that would play into the hands of the unrighteous and continue the cycle of violence and oppression. The purpose of slavery is not to provide labour, it is to show the slave the Truth and bring them into the light of The Lord and freedom. And it seems that large numbers of slave holders have forgotten that duty, instead wallowing in material comforts. It is time that they were shown the error of their ways, for the benefit of all. |

Congratulations Admiral, I hope you live up to the expectations of all who matter most. Specifically those in your pledge of whom you intend to serve: the Republic and its people. Like many pod-bound, they too will be watching you. Be sure your intentions do not pathe a different road, and you will be proven worthy.
And Dante, be angered at the voice that commanded the trigger to be pulled, not the hand that pulled it. However, be angry with an eventuality in mind that will rectify the problem or you too will head down a different road that will consume you and change nothing. |
