Does anyone else have problems Alt + Tabbing? I can do it numerous times in a row and then randomly when i click eve to go back in, it just sits at the desktop and I eventually have to end task. I've tried this on several computers including my friends and his does it as well. Was curious if anyone else had this problem. |

Edited by: Nariza Tir''enna on 02/05/2008 13:38:57 Edited by: Nariza Tir''enna on 02/05/2008 13:37:27 yea, happens sometimes for me.. what i usually do is, go into windowed mode ( alt-enter), while eve is selected on the taskbar and then back, and eve is fullscreen again.
but, it comes at a cost..
all icons and header text on windows, ie drones , chat, local etc. are either garbled or missing, overview doesn't escape this either, only remedy is to minimize/close-open every window in eve / hover mouse over them and such, or.. simply, when you get back into eve.. relog
hope this piece of information was usefull |

I have only had the problem running multiple full screen premium clients and alt tabbing between them.
dunno if thats windows or eve. but i like windowed because i can check stuff on my other monitor without the window minimizing. that and usually running 2 clients. |

Indeed , very annoying. I think it has to do with memory load as it's more likely to freeze when you have firefox open (hence why I no longer post killmails in space) |

Same issue here. I run in Full Screen mode, with either one client and Firefox, 2 clients, or 2 and firefox. It will sometimes be fine for days, then lock up many times in a row.
I only run this way in safe areas as a result. If I am 'pew pewing' then I am single client. |

Cool thanks for the replies - i have an 8800GT running full screen (around 100fps) and i do have firefox open. Maybe i'll cut out web browsing and see if that helps. Window mode is a good idea too. |

Edited by: P''uck on 02/05/2008 15:24:42 8600gt, 2gig of ram, 2.2ghz elcheapo dualcore here.
i only run one eve client but i can run all kinds of other stuff in the background, from firefox over photoshop to other 3d games.
only times i get those problems is when i alt tab too fast or SOMETIMES when WMP was displaying videos.
other than that its fine now (/me knocks on wood) |

I get it, on occasion, it started I think with Trinity 1.1, but it may have started later. I can't find anything similar each time it happens. |

I get that sometimes, usually when I've forgotten eve is still running and it sits minimized for a while. |

The Eve client may become unresponsive when alt+tabbing back into the client. Until the defect is resolved a suggestion is to play in windowed mode as it may reduce the occurrence. |

Happens to me too, but strange is that it happens only with one account (oldest one). It never happens with my other accounts, even though I run them all from same install.

I have found that I can get EVE to become responsive again by ending other tasks that are running. For me, the tasks that always seem to cause a problem are firefox and winamp. After killing those, EVE usually comes back to life. Don't know if this helps anyone or not, but that's what it's like for me most of the time. |
