I digged up this thread and fitted my Osprey with a setup that was ok with my skills.
I used it to mine in 0.5 (and support a teammate in a retriever) and it was really efficient.
Here it is:
[High]
- 3 x Miner II
- SV-200 Assault launcher(+bloodclaws for guristas)
[Mid]
- 2 x Racial jammers (here BZ-5 neutralizing ECM)
- Cap Recharger I
- Medium shield extender (Medium Azeotropic Ward)
[Low]
- 3 x Quantum Co-Processor I
[drones] 4 Hologobelins
I hope to soon get rid of one of the Co-proc for a cargo bay or MLU if that fits.
You just have to offset the lasers as the cargo bay is too small for one cycle of the 3 lasers.
This thing was so good, I could probably defeat some lower sec systems pirates. |

If you're mining in highsec, don't bother with the ECM. Seriously, it does not work on rats, and ECM on non-bonused ships is just a waste of time.
On bonused ships on the other hand, its awesome.
Fit a roid scanner and a passive shield resist against the local rats instead (kinetic for Guristas).

HIGH: 3 x Miner II, 1 x assault launcher (Bloodclaw missiles vs. Guristas)
MID: Kin, Therm passive shield resist (vs. Guristas), med shield extender and cap recharger
LOW: Currently I have three cargo extenders, which allows me to hold 2 full cycles from the mining lasers. I can mine while doing other stuff without having to empty the cargo hold as frequently. I am thinking of fitting mining upgrades with a co-processor but the affordable ones are horrible CPU sucks.
DRONES: 4 x Hornet (vs. Guristas)
Everything listed above is type 2, except for the assault launcher which is an Arbalest. If I am supporting a barge I will often load up with Caldari Navy missiles for additional firepower. |
