The way to get casual pvp started in this game is a bit long and hard to look for imo. It simply scares and even bores alot of people away from the game
Why not put a feature in the game that let's you battle it out with randomly composed fleets against eachother?
could be added as a station service that let's you access a menu after signing up to compose a ship of your choice with the fittings you want (skills and money required after making one) and then transports you in a clone at the arena/battleground and fight to the death in your handpicked ship for a nice reward, either loyalty points, plain cash, a shiny module or other stuff.
when the battle ends, the winners gets their reward and their ships and fittings in them returned to cash, the losers.. try again :)
play types could be:
one on one, 2vs2, 3vs3, etc..
with the option to fight only in T1, T2, only in frigates, cruisers, no Ewar allowed and so forth
ofcourse the rewards get much better how more risk of losing money is involved, for example T2 battleship fleet battles rewards so much better instead of a quick cheap T1 frigate skirmish.
This would cater to beginners and veterans alike i think because of the different playstyles and would attract and keep alot more players to the game, because face it alot of people can't invest so much time in a game that takes so long to look for a fight when they have jobs and family to look after and after a while it get downright boring sometimes to keep on playing.
my 2 cents and thanks for reading share the opinions :) |

Not the EVE I know.
Something more EVE would go like this: Inside specific high-sec stations you can sign up for "sanctioned" pvp. The pvp would work much like a mission, with a location, time limit (pretty short) and a reward. Anyone can come and watch, but if they get involved concord blow them up (high-sec remember). Your ship would be at risk. It wouldn't be EVE without that. |

Problem with singularity is though, it doesnt have the repercussions and rewards that you would have on your character on tranquility.

True, but isn't that the point? It shouldn't be easy to engage in combat that will end up costing somebody something. If you want to get into a fight that will influence the economics of EvE, then you're got to work for it. |
