Probing mission runners is a dying art where I come from.
Within minutes of anyone starting a mission in my home system, they're being probed out.
Imagine my dismay when I spend 30 mins finding a juicy drake only to find one of the other local heathens has already probed the poor guy out, and is currently ransoming with a raven, and 2 intecepters.
Wasted 30 mins of my time finding this mission spot, I'm not going to waste it. So I convo the poor guy in the drake, and ransom him for a chance to escape. He pays, I fly in in my falcon, jam all the bad guys, drake warps out.

You, sir, are mistaken.
You did not ransom the fellow in the drake.
You offered him a short term, single objective mercenary contract as an economical way to save himself from destruction. You then bailed him out of pirate influence.
"Ransom" suggests you were doing something criminal. I think the term you were looking for was, "Hostage Rescue User Fee."
It's all in how you frame it... |

who wants to fight mission runners anyway. its more exiteing to fight the pirates :P i would start fighting the raven and ceptors. and then kill the drake to finish off.
