One of the big problems in 0.0 is the lack of proliferating corperations. The vast majority of systems, planets, and moons go untapped. Mainly this is because POSs are expensive, and you can't just make them appear in low sec. So there is a possible solution. A large manufacturing ship who's objective would be to orbit a moon(like a POS) but has the sole job of manufacutring starships, parts, and raw materials.
Things can be placed in its cargo hold by haulers. Blueprints left in slots, and the ship left in orbit by its pilot.
Things it cant do: (1: Can not manufacture Cap ships. (2: Can not run indefinitely. Requires Isotopes to fuel (3: Can not support in combat or mining ops in any way. (4: Can not offer 'station services' other than manufacturing. No clones, no hangars, and no fitting.
Balancing. It should take a long time to anchor and unanchor from its moon, so these don't become impossible to catch. They're supposed to be slow and lumbering. Cost should be less than a well fitted pos.
That's all I've got for now. It would adress the problem of not having mining and manufacturing corps in 0.0 because of the expence/risk. The ship could be able to go into 0.0, tap it, and jump back to high sec. It might work well combined with a titan, and definately provides new PVP targets for corps already in 0.0 Lots of fun for everyone! |

by the same token it would be nice to see a ship that is similar but instead of manufacturing it does moon mining and nothing else, however it must be anchored and isotope fueled in order to do so. |

What I would rather see is a ship that orbits a moon, and BUILDS a POS at it. Make special blueprints that can only be used on that ship ( like the Rorqual) and have it able to build towers at a set rate. This would obviously take time. The big question is should it be a Capital or sub capital? The Capital seems obvious due to the processes required. |

Edited by: Sha''ara Sha''amashira on 04/05/2008 16:06:36 for something that builds pos units i would say definitely captial, but for the 2 other ideas i would love to see another ship class that actually requires advanced spaceship command as a requirement other than freighters. |
