So my corps got a war vs a 1 man corp starting soon, im out there doing recon and the target is sitting out side the station. He was flying a demios, with the currentfitting its weird cause acording to this scan he has a deimos is 5 turrets, 4 medium and 3 low. This means that he has 1 extra medium, a weber, warp disrupter and 2 cap rechargers, and is missing a few things in the low slots.
Im 99% sure that it was a deimos, is there any other ships out there similar(he has stated he only flys cruisers) that could fit the fitting in the ss. Or is there something wrong with the ship scanner?

Only the Phobos and the Vigilant have 4 mids... either the scan results are wrong for fittings (hardly unheard of) or the ship type is wrong. I've heard of the former quite often, but *never* the latter. I'd say the scanner is confused about the fitting.

would it almost b safe to assume that its cap relay 2's instead of cap rechargers? or would it be best to ignore pretty much all of it? =/

The ship scanner has a bad habit of showing the same item twice. So if the Deimos has 5 turrets equipped, sometimes you read 5 and sometimes you read 6.
Why does it do this? Beats the hell out of me.

Ship scanners do this. They'll show you items twice or skip modules.
Use eft to fill in what you find and make multiple scans to get the correct picture.
.... or just pop him and look at the killmail.... :) |

The ship scanner omits things and shows things twice. Run it a few times and piece the puzzle together. BTW, has anybody ever tried a tech 2 ship scanner? Does it solve the problem? |

the deimos was supposed to pick up an extra mid, in exchange for a low... and those changes were made on sisi etc... maybe some changes were made to scanner output formats etc during those plans, and forgot to change back.. who knows...

This.
Ship scanners will never give you a 100% accurate representation of what is fitted; you need a couple of scans really and the results will still "overlap" somewhat.

Ship scanner is rarely completely accurate.
All you can really count on is that the guy has at least 1 of every module that shows up in the scan.
