Hi,
Can someone explain to me, how you attack a system that has Sov 4, ie Constellation sov.
I know that if a Constellation has 3 Outposts in it, then it gets Sov 4, then you can nominate which system gets the 'Constellation Capital'.
Once that has happened, I believe that all towers, and mods??, become invincable and you cannot lock them.
How do you then attack such a system, and lower the sov level?
Is they only way to put up more towers than the other side?
Thanks,
Jack.

Break the sov 4 by taking one of the outposts that isnt in the sov 4 system, once this is done sov 4 goes away. |

Ah, ok.
So only 1 system in the constellation can have Sov 4?
And that only protects the towers in that system, not all the systems in the Constellation then?
If so, thats what was confusing me...

Sovereignty 4 is the constellation capital. To have a constellation capital you need constellation sovereignty so to break it you'll need to break one of the conditions which allow constellation sovereignty. Taking one of the three required outposts is one of them, causing the ConSov holder to lose his majority claim to the constellation is another one. The third condition is to have a Sovereignty 3 system set as the constellation capital which will then upgrade to the constellation capital.. so you can't really touch that. |

It's also worth noting that constellation sov gets a 7 day grace period in which to meet the conditions for sov4 again. If they don't have 3+ outposts and 51% constellational sov after 7 downtimes, they lose sov4. Const sov bonuses remain in effect for this 7 day period. |

How does that work when there's 4, 5 or more OP's in the constellation though, is taking just one still enough? Do you have to get it to below 3? Or undecided?

You have to break the constellation sovereignty condition. The breakable conditions are: 51% solar system claim 3 outposts, there of 1 capital outpost. Conquerable stations cannot be capital outposts.
If you have 5 outposts, you need to lose 3 in order for the second condition to break. In this case it -->might<-- very well be easier to claim the constellation space rather than go after the outposts.

Edited by: Solitude Jack on 06/05/2008 10:24:44 Ok, thanks for all the replies.
So which systems can NOT have towers locked and attacked?
Is it just the Sov 4 system?
I thought that it was all of the systems in the constellation (ie the other Sov 3 systems), but now I think its just the SOV 4 system

The ONLY system that will have unlockable POSs is the constellation capital (that's the system with the outpost designated as the outpost capital), you can lock and destroy POSs in all OTHER solarsystems in the constellation. -- eve-guides.com All about POSs, Outposts, Exploration, Mining, Invention, EVE Database + much more!! |

Presuming they don't dump an outpost in every system in the constellation :P Would be interesting to see if people end up doing that, given how there's quite a few constellations in various regions with low system count.

So if a constellation had 6 systems and 6 outposts and 3 were held by two different alliances, neither get const. sov because there is <=50% of systems held by either?

That is correct. 50% < 51%.
