On the 6th May 2003 a group of ex-Jumpgate players created PIE Inc.
One year later, it was revealed that PIE was the third-oldest surviving corporation in the game.
On the fifth anniversary of PIE's founding, I would like to thank our members past and present for making it the great corp that it is, our allies for standing by us through the bad times as well as the good, and of course the various enemies who have given us good fights over the years.
Here's to the next five! |

As one of the founder members I salute PIE for its achievements particularly its longevity and strict adherence to its Amarr only (ships and pilots) policy.
Few people remember that when PIE (and First Praetorian Guard which merged with it) first came on the scene they were pretty much the only Amarrian corps to put their money where their mouth was and fight what were at that stage much larger and more experienced Minmatar terrorists corps in the shape of Oracle (the forerunner to Ushra'Khan) and the People's Front of Minmatar (led by the notorious Viquer Fell).
Even when I left PIE to focus on the CVA I have always admired PIE's steadfast devotion to its duty and its willingness to stick to its guns even in the face of major adversity!

I just passed my four year anniversary in PIE a few days ago. After playing Eve a year as a Caldari after beta my desire to join PIE led me to create a brand new character just to join since they're Amarr-only. It's a move I've never regreted as experience and skillpoints lost over a year of play making a new character were more than eclipsed by joining a great group of new friends. People like Golan Trevize, Hardin, Caya, Rodj Blake, Gaven Lok'ri, Lallara Zhuul, Gaius Kador and all the rest of the PIE members throughout the years.
To our enemies like Oracle, MM, UK, EM, Maak and all the others, sometimes as many as 20+ wars at once, and to the entire Eve roleplay community in general, thanks for making it a fun time for PIE. Eve has the best gaming community in the entire world.
Here's to the next five years of Eve and continuing the story of one of Eve's oldest corporations. Never the biggest, never the richest, never the strongest, but always "just a bunch of friends". Maybe that's what longevity and fun are really all about.
