So lets say that one wanted a Dominix that used both of its great bonuses to spit out relatively good DPS and had a decent tank. The tank would need to last long enough to get remote reppers on you in small gang warfare, or hold its own in a 1v1 or 1v2 to let your DPS take out the other ships.
Heres what I have:
Highs: 6x Electron Blaster Cannon IIs firing faction Antimatter or Null depending on ship range
Mediums: 1x MWD II 1x Stasis Webber II 1x Warp Disruptor II 1x Medium Electrochemical Injector w/ 800s 1x Sensor Booster II or Magnetometric ECCM depending on fight
Lows: 1x Large Armor Repper II 1x Damage Control II 1x Armor Explosive Hardener II 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1x 1600 Rolled Tungsten 1x Magnetic Field Stab
Drones: Ogres, Berserkers, and Lights oh my!
Rigs: 1x Auxiliary Nano Pump 2x Trimarks (I currently have 2 resist rigs fitted to help tank but am considering swapping them out for Trimarks)
I'd like to have a little bit of a tank going rather than fully passive because I feel the Megathron does full passive shenanigans much better. Fitting Medium Neutron Blasters boggles my mind too since I like big ol' guns and prefer to use my Battleship skill bonus. Also the Medium Injector seems to work well since Electrons aren't cap intensive like Neutrons and I'm only supporting one Repairer and Hardener.
How does it look? With overheating it smacks people pretty hard but I wouldnt use it against a Hyperion or Abaddon, among others. I should also state that I have a 3% powergrid hardwiring to help with fitting.

Your tank is weak and your cap is really unstable.
A mix of active/passive is pretty meh, except in some very limited circumstances.
If you want gank, how would you feel about dropping the local rep for a second plate and then the explosuve hardener for either another plate or a second dmg mod? Obviously switch that last rig to another trimark.
It might even leave a little spare PG to upgrade the guns some. Self Destruct & LogOffs |

with a bit of module juggling you can dual-rep a heavy blaster domi. It's sick. -------

I haven't run into any cap issues while using the ship yet. And going fully plated would just make me want to use my Megathron which can fit 7 Neutron Cannons a heck of a lot easier.
I dont usually mix passive and active but that 10% explosive resist hole in Gallente armor really screams for a big Explosive Hardener Band-Aid. Even plated Megathrons will sometimes drop a Mag Field Stab to fit one of the exp hardeners to help them from the all to popular Minmatar gank gangs. |

Dominix doesn't have a tanking bonus.

Either Passive tank or Active Tank. Don't do both. |

Ever been in a close range fully passive tanked ship getting needled down by a small gang of small ships orbiting just inside of 20km?
Its not fun and it makes a hilarious killmail for their boards. |
