I've got a corp in an alliance that I'm providing research slots for - but I need to withdraw the corp for a while and then take the pos's down as i'm going on extended holiday - I know I could just set them to restricted so no more jobs could be added, but I'd prefer to leave the alliance.
if I did leave the alliance, would the currently in progress alliance jobs be terminated instantly, or would they still successfully run to completion? |

All jobs in progress at a lab are terminated when the lab is unanchored afaik. |

Jobs will cancel when you unanchor labs. As to where the bpo's will go is based on where owners originally installed from. So probably back to their own corp hangers.
Hire someone to fuel the pos for you. I think there are people out there who provide this service. |

I'm not going to unanchor, I'm not going to offline the pos - I'm just going to leave the alliance - that's the question!
Will leaving the alliance cause the jobs to fail? |

Well when you offline the POS the jobs will go into "pending" mode - IE the jobs will still show on the corps jobs screen but will be "pending" and the bpo will still be in the job slot.
If you left the alliance I would hazard a guess that the BPOs will either disappear into a black hole (my money is on this), get moved to deliveries (if job was put on from the station) or re-appear back in the corps hangar (if it was put on from stn).
Your best bet and the corp using the POS is to cancel the jobs to get the BPOs back before offlining. |

Seriously, guys, you're not listening to the ACTUAL question here. I'm not offlining, I'm not unanchoring, I'm not doing ANYTHING OTHER than LEAVING the alliance. I'm talking about other alliance members jobs, in my POS. What would happen to THEM if my corp left the alliance.
The POS is left on, the labs on, all online, all anchored, all fuelled up. |

your best bet is to hop on sisi and check it out. If the labs have been up for a while, odds are they'll already be set up on the test server.

No POSes on Sisi. Would provide a great intelligence advantage if one could simply log onto Sisi and easily see where they are.
Edit: No POSes mirrored on Sisi.
I suppose you could set one up on the test server, then leave alliance to test what happens.

yup, just established that hehehe. And there is no way I'm spending two hours setting up a pos just to see what happens

I dont know much about POSs and research, but dont INDIVIDUALS install the jobs? (not alliances) So would the job belong to the character or could be accessed by directors with appropriate rights?
( ya know you could have just NOT posted "...but I need to withdraw the corp for a while and then take the pos's down as i'm going on extended holiday..." cuz that sure sounds like offlining ) |

My apologies for a totally noob question but, how do I get access to SISI test server? I looked everywhere and canÆt seem to find any directions on who to get there. I can get access to Singularity and Multiplicity but never can find anything on SISI.
WhatÆs the catch?

From the current design of POSes, there is no reason that leaving the Alliance should cancel jobs, but I cannot confirm for sure.
In fact, the only reason jobs cancel when you unanchor the lab is to avoid people anchoring, starting a months of jobs, unanchoring, reanchoring, starting another months, etc.
Worst comes to worst, filling a petition to get back any disappearing jobs should work. But as I said, since you arn't unanchoring, you are not performing a process that would allow job duplication, so it should work fine.

It shouldn't cancel the jobs, though obviously I can't say for certain without trying it, my understanding of the mechanics is that the permissions are worked out entirely at install time. |
