Start with Industry V, Mass Production IV and Production Efficiency V. Get a few high-ME BPCs of stuff you'd like to make and give it a few shots. Then decide wether you still want to do this. If yes, buy a couple of pre-researched BPOs (they come relatively cheap, the research part I mean) from other players, and train Mass Production V followed by Advanced Mass Production IV.

Short version:
Get a blueprint and some minerals at a station, do some right-click magic on the blueprint (it's quite easy) and wait!
Required skills: Industry I Recommended skills: Production Efficiency (V preferably), Mass Production, Advanced Mass Production

I'd recommend you getting eve-meep. It has nice features that help a lot.

Yes. Usually I am happy with 10% profit.
About 2 weeks ago there were some Abaddons selling in the region where I live for mineral price + 200k isk (using a bpo with 35 ME and Production Efficiency V). So you get the idea. It's important to know what to build and when and where to sell.
PS: I am not a hardcore player... Maybe if I had a little bit more time to play I could get better deals and know the market better.
I suggest you to play a little bit with eve-meep to get an idea...

where im at its not unusual to see ships sitting just over the insurance fraud price for example, let alone under mineral prices. Granted I think where I am at you see a lot of newbi wanabe "super industrialists" comeing out of the acadamy and trying to sell frigs and destroyers just to pay their bills.
