What is the most fun ship to fly in, and what do you do in it?

Any ship that you fly into combat and whose loss isn't too painful tends to be fun. I've always found the Kestrel to fit the bill.

1. Polaris Dreadnought 2. I generally use the Jovian DDD (Jovians can use their DDD on all capitals), which gives the target a negative wallet balance, changes their clone to alpha, anchors their POS, and insta-bbq their ship, pod and corpse.

Have to disagree some with ...uh, whats an Eve Partner?
Any ship that's pimped with full tech 2 and rigs is fun to fly for me. Mainly because wouldn't get the same thrill from PvP if I only fly ships I can afford to lose
Kestrel is fun though.

2 ships come to mind for me.
Huginn: Nothing says "I despises you" like dropping a ceptor to 50m/s then toasting the untanked frigate over a handful of assault launchers * Hobgoblin IIs. Alternatively lock down blaster/AC boats from 20km and pelt them away from outside their range, or hit the MWD and outtrack the ranged ships from 20km. Then slowly pelt away untill their ship collapses. Not much fun to lose though.
Hurricane: OMGWTFBBQ-DPS without sacrificing the tank. Requires a lot of skills to use right and even then fittings are pretty tight. My fitting gets about 5-600 DPS while still having tackling, a MWD, Medium Cap booster, 2 EANMS, and dual M. Armor Repair IIs. Only BC that can come close to that DPS is a gank brutix and that has to sacrifice it's tank to do it. I've made it a habit of looking at the Amo usage when fighting cruisers to see how long the battle lasted. Longest time belongs to a 1600mm tungsten plate, tracking disruptor arbitrator at 55 seconds. Most however don't make it past the 20 second mark even if i start shooting partway into falloff. _______________

Wolf for the win. To see what I do in it, click the link and read the blog entries!!
There have been other adventures that I haven't written up, like the time me and a corpmate engaged a Drake (me in Wolf, corpmate in Hound) an had to disengage after I killed all the drake's drones, simply due to being a PINCH too low on DPS to break his shield down (one more SB would've done the trick, or maybe another AF). But I DID kill an Omen and a logoffski'd Typhoon (with a failfit lol) in my Wolf last night, was a ton of fun.
People say AFs are useless, and I can't argue with the logic they put forth. However, no matter what they say, they can't argue with how much fun I have flying the thing!

I always have fun with my Rifter. Rarely does it matter the fit even. Its just a nice fast little ship with decent firepower for its size. It handles well enough that the battles feel more like a dogfight then the giant lumbering pow-pow (yep they're so big they aren't even pew-pew) that the larger ships feel like.

I love pvping in my vexor 1600 plate gives good staying power, has nice damage and is versitile. Thorax is even more fun.
I've flown a stabber though on test server and that ships is so much fun it should be illegal.

Passive drake that I sit in a belt with. Really, just me all by my lonesome...promise.
Seriously, the most fun has to be an armor tanked gank Osprey against ******** can-flippers. Mining laser and passive targeter suggested for extra class.

Has to be the Ishkur for my money. ItĘs the 2nd fastest Assault frigate, and can field 5 light drones. Nothing like getting right in to the same orbit as your drones around a target and letting it enjoy the tender attention of some neutron blasters.

Kind of expensive, but I've found the curse to be a lot of fun. Sometimes you need a wingman for added DPS, but being able to nos/neut the crap out of people is fun. Especially neuting your friends at gate camps. They LOVE that!

I'd have to say either the Crow or Hookbill. Fully T2 fit they aren't much to lose plus the ceptor's speed makes it crazy fun and popping helpless miners in my Hookbill is good for the laughs.
I haven't flown one in awhile but a Thorax as well, blaster-fit roaming through Lowsec. Great stuff. _____________ Hai. |

Only costs about 30 mil to lose once you collect insurance too.
makes me want to go check the kill time on a 1600 plate trax kill i had a while back.
I love flying the abaddon/geddon, all the megapulse going active is just *********
crow is fun to fly
also zealots

At this time, probably the Falcon for me. As an example why, with a little preparation (and luck) I can reduce the functionality of a Capital Ship (Carrier, Dread) to that of an expensive paperweight for the duration of a short engagement or I can hassle it relentlessly during a longer one. On the other hand, I can fit for
I also enjoy flying a Basilisk in PvP and PvE. Shock, horror!
I'm soon to be able to fly a Cerberus as well, which I'm thinking should add a ittle more variety to both my PvE and PvP but still allow me to maintain my preferred "support" role in gangs.

uhh, you know a sieged dread is immune to ewar right? And if it isn't sieged then it's little more then an expensive paperwieght even if you don't have it jammed. _______________

Yes, I'm well aware of that.
It doesn't change the fact I've helped camp a Dread inside a station on more than one occasion because he couldn't really risk going into seige mode on the undock or alternatively try to drive off the battleships hemming him in - despite the Dread having refit to try it anyway.

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 08/05/2008 02:24:33 Firetail. I believe it has the fastest unboosted speed of any ship in the game, and with a good MWD and speed mods it goes absurdly fast. It isn't as maneuverable as an interceptor but its tracking bonus and four weapon slots means it packs a good punch in PvP. The only positive comments I've ever gotten from people after I destroy them have been when I've done it in one of my faction ships, so that's another bonus .
edit: absurdly fast for a T1 ship

>_> Harbinger can push that much damage easily, and a HAM drake can actually push it up there pretty good too.
Full gank brutix is actually more like 800+ dps
As for me, I like anything with lasers. They're always a joy to use, especially with scorch BBQing anything in range. __________________________________

I LOVE my Taranis. It is fast, it is deadly, and eats other frigs for breakfast. You can even go for sabres if they don't have a web fitted. A Crow often dies before i hit armor. It's a beast..

In no particular order: Ishkur, Keres and Nemesis. I like the play style of the three of them. For each, you must choose your targets with care. If I had to pick only one I would go with the Ishkur as a frigate with five drones is made of win, in my opinion.

All depends on what you enjoy doing. For example, if you typically enjoy being a 'healer' or support role in other games you play, a logistics ship would suit you well.
As for my I enjoy...
