Is there any way we can add a feature to the market browser that will indicate weather or not our sell order is the current lowest price in the 1)station 2)solar system 3)region, for that paticular item? I always want to make sure I have the lowest price avalible, and when you have tons of orders and have to check each different item, it takes forever. A similar feature that will indicate weather or not each 'buy order' is the highest in the region would be awesome too.
By all means, to save stress on the server, use a 5-minute update rule before the indicator kicks in. It would be nice when you click on the 'my orders' tab, to see some colored rectangles around each order that indicates each orders' current position in the market at a glance.
For the record, I'm not looking for a utility that will help me play the .01isk undercut game (make the timer longer if necessary), just some help for managing large numbers of orders without having to right-click, view market details on every single item, everytime I want to make sure it's the lowest price out there. Hell, with less people querying the market, it might free up some resourses resulting in less overall lag. --------------------------------------------- Official US ambassador to the UK.

If you ask me, I would definitely like to have that kind of feature, as it would save me quite a tremendous amount of time. It would also prevent me thinking my order is on top, when it's actually not (for example it's not that easy to see that my order is 1234567.89 and the highest is 12234567.89... if you manage several dozens of orders, and check them quickly, you might get tricked).
HOWEVER... I think this would help the 0.01 isk players far more than me. Thus, I personnally do not wish to have that kind of feature implemented ^^
If it is eventually, I'll have to cope with it, and find a way to turn it into an advantage (as all traders are used to do on a daily basis, right?).
Also, not having this kind of information through the API might also tamper the "bad side" of this feature IMHO.

If only you had it, it would be very helpful feature. But if all traders have it? All your competitors? It would allow them to beat your orders much more effectively, which would result in more work for you.

Maybe you should just make your orders more distinctive, so you can reconsise them in the list of orders. For example, buy makeing your orders from a particular station that others dont use.
Although it would be a useful feature for the orders list.

I tried that, and this was what my previous post was about ;) I used to "tag" all my orders (sell and buy) with ".91". After a few days, I saw two answers to my tag : 1/ prices that was using my same tag, but wasn't my orders 2/ prices that would be very similar (example : my order was 12345.91 and the other guy's order would be 12245.91)
I now only use those "tags" when I wish to show the other guys around I'm here, and that i'd like them to go seek for another item to trade (by undercutting from a large amount at a time for example).

Most of people use 3 months duration, so using another one helps a bit with recognizing your orders.

The validity of this statement depends on the prices of the two goods in either order and the demand elasticity and the cross-price elasticity of the two goods in either order and also distance;

please, i want a feature that undercuts automathically the lowest price of an item by .01ISK, so when 2 .01ISKers meet in a station their price drops to 0 and the bastards are out of business :D

I dont care one way or the other but it woud be nice if my buy/sell orders were a diff color on the market screen, kind of like the green color bar for sell orders that your in range of.
I can take it or leave it, and I dont even think it would make alot of diff to me over all as I only run 48 buy/sell orders so I dont find it that hard to manage them.

Why bother.. just reorder the market window accordingly and take a look at the corresponding orders emanating from your system, or as previously mentioned there already exists a feature which sorta gives you that information already. |

Being able to see which order is mine in the details screen would be awesome. Have two separate colors to differentiate between "My Order" and "My Order that covers this location". Add to this the ability to right click and modify my order directly from the details tab and it would save me a fair bit of time.

Not sure what they mean, maybe Market Group view... can show you lowest sell price in station/system/region for all items in selected market group, but thats often bugged and its use is limited...

Just locate yourself at a system from which nobody else is making buy orders.
Set the buy page to highest price at the top.
Put the stuff you are making orders for on the quickbar.
Job done!!
Just click on your items on the quickbar and you can see instantly where your order is in the pecking order.
I should charge isk for this kind of stuff

Apropos my previous post........I didn't really address the issue of the lowest SELL order
Since many traders sell items from multiple stations in multiple systems a method of automatically seeing where your sell orders are in the general scheme of things is more difficult.
The best advice I can give is adopt a unique price feature and use that to see where your prices need updating

This is what you were talking about?? It is not even close to the idea proposed in OP - the point was that you don't have to click though your items to see their market details (your order position).

Oh well I didn't realise you was just looking for a button that you push and then all your buy orders are the highest. And then another button that you push and the all your sell orders are the lowest
So you just sit there and push the buttons every 5 minutes and your competitors do the same?

You really should read the OP at least once. He was asking for indication of order's position. Like you would open your Wallet, Orders tab and those orders that are on top would have green dot or something. He did not ask for auto-update, neither did I.
Also, I said it is not a good idea, becouse it would make it easier for his competitors.
Your trick helps recognize your own orders quicky, but has nothing to do with request posted in OP.
