I'm looking for advice on buying and fitting slave implants. I fly primarily Amarr command ships and battleships (occasionally HAC's), and have trained up most of my main and secondary skills to 5, so now I'm looking at other ways of improving my battle effectiveness. Are slave implants worth the cost? Under what type of play are they used for primarily, fleet battles, small gang, etc?
Thanks Much,

slave implants are good if you can afford them.
always use the best equipment you can afford to lose.

I don't think they'd be worth anything in a fleet battle. If 100 ships target you and start firing, it wont matter if you have 100k EHP or 300k EHP, you'll still die in a few seconds - plus, if you lose the battle and are floating around in a pod in hostile space, you don't want a set of pirate implants in your head
Amarr are excellent armour tankers so you can't really go wrong with them.
EDIT: Slave implants are also quite cheap - at least compared to things like Crystals or Snakes. There's also a couple of hard wirings for about 150-200m each which give 5% better armour or 5% better armour repairing etc.
They are also useful when flying a Dreadnought or a Carrier when spider tanking as the extra armour buffer can really help survivability.
Have you tried Trimark rigs? They add more armour to your ship also. Combined with slaves, you will get a huge hitpoint buffer. |

Edited by: Mariana Benn on 09/05/2008 11:57:45 Thanks for the advice. Yes, I've recently started using trimarks. Now that my cap skills are decent, I don't needt to always fit ccc's on my bs's. I've put trimarks on my Damnation and my geddon and was surprised at how well they stack.

Thats because they dont stack, they build up exponentially, as they work through %'s of total armor, not a static armor increase. |

With a Full High-grade Slave set + High Grade Omega, Akemon's ZET5000 implant and 1 Trimark rig I'm getting 11460 armor hp in the Absolution. That's with no plates.
In a Navy Apoc with same implants and 1 Trimark rig I'm at 26833 armor hp. Just for sh!ts and giggles I put on 8 x 1600 tungsten plates and it gave me 106950 armor hp. One plate alone raised it from 26833 to 36860. 10k armor from 1 plate is nice.
IMHO, totally worth it, although quite a big loss if you PvP....Depends on how big your wallet is if you can afford that loss.
