These guys are supposed to be frigate tacklers, I'm quite bad for coming up with loadouts but here is mine currently. I had a run of bad luck and this is the only ship I've really got right now. I'm trying to rat with it atm. When you post your loadouts please mention if it's pve or pvp and if it's trying to solo or not. I've found that armour repair And mwd make for too little power, but I'm almost at advanced weapon upgrades and might get a rig to give more powergrid. I might swap to shield boosters if I skill them up more.
Highslots 2x 250mm light artillery cannons 1x standard missile launcher
Medslots 1x mwd 1x tracking disruptor with range with optimal range script 1x webifier 1x target paiter
lowslots 1x diagnostic 1x capacitor power relay 1x armour repair

Just a hint but dont rat in a hyena, a rifter is probably better.

I just put that loadout as what I used in a pinch. I'm more interested in actual loadouts for the ship as it's new and has an interesting role with extended range webifiers in a frigate.

Hmm ... weird config.
1) Hyena is a EAF (Electronic Attack Frigate) and is a support bird for a fleet. it might be able to solo other frigs dumb enough to attack it but I doubt it because of low damage output. 2) Armor repair on a hyena is pointless. If oyur speed tank fails, you die. You arent going to rep hits. 3) Small weapons dont need target painters to hit targets. Target painters are to allow big ships to hit small ships. 4) Tracking disruptor is questionable in any setting but in PvP it would be better to use another web as that is where the hyena's big bonuses are. 5) Dont rat in a hyena -- its a rapid way to lose a lot of isk.

Edited by: DubanFP on 09/05/2008 21:34:25 I wouldn't recommend it for PVE or solo PVP. It just not that good in a straitfoward situation. Gang PVP however it has some nice things going for it. Here's the setup i have come up with for a ceptor killer for large gang PVP.
Hi-slots: 2x 200mm AC II 1x Arby Rockets
Mid-slots: MWD/Warp disruptor Fleeting web "overheated until you can get closer" Medium Shield Extender II
Low slots: Gyrostab II Overdrive II MAPC
Basically the idea would be to stop a ceptor to a speed you easily catch them "with your 3km/s" then use your combat fitting to overpower the untanked ceptor. It's a lot cheaper then a huginn, and even just 1 ceptor kill before dieing would be worth it. It would probebly be called primary very late in a fight meaning it's survivable too. I would think it would either do VERY well or be a total flop, but honestly i haven't had the chance to try it yet. Sounds promising though.
P.S. The target painter is bonus isn't worth using. _______________

Actually, it is. It decreases locktime for all the people who fly with you (including the target's friends) and makes the target easier to hit. But it depends on what you are hunting too.

Has no effect if they already started targeting before the painter went online. And unless they're very laggy/AFK they will have. So no, it serves no purpose at all. And since they're going to be webbed anyway, it does nothing to aid tracking.
A target going 10m/s isn't going to avoid anything except a dread in siege.

Medium: 2 Fleeting Propulsion Webifiers Phased Weapon Navigation Target Painter MWD II
Low: Overdrive Injector II x 2 Nanofiber II
The target painter has a range of about 40km plus falloff. The webifiers only have a range of 20km at EAF lvl 5. (26km overheated). The painter makes sense on a ship like the hyena where it doesn't on a rapier/huginn because of the range. It's the equivalent of giving everyone in the gang a tracking computer w/ tracking scripts. I'll put one on a destroyer w/o the TP bonuses and it allows it a 15% - 20% better chance to hit an inty w/ an angular velocity of 11km/s. That's small guns shooting at a frigate ship.

If you want to rat, or even solo other frigates, get a Sentinel. It's a frigate-sized Curse with a drone bay second only to the Ishkur among T2 frigates.

Ignore fitting the guns, strap on whatever fits at the end.
Personally I have 2 standard II's on mine, and that does the job just fine, since if your pathetic amount of DPS makes the differance between killing and not killing then your gang blows anyway.
Launchers are definitely the best for this kinda ship, since you just set them off and if you are close enough you hit. You should be focused on getting the right orbit to not die to hold down whatever you are after rather than trying to moderate your speed or trajectory to make your guns track.
I like a sensor booster on mine in big gangs or gate camps as opposed to a point. Mostly you'll have a dictor or a bubble to do the scramming, and double webbing REALLY fast is loads better than a point. Also remember for stopping inties etc, you just need to stop them getting away for a second or two then the gang lands DPS on it before it can warp anyway.
