What if Eve players had contracts to 'play' for other corps. There can be free-agents, drafts, highly touted prospects... like a sports league.
Contracts would be a minimum of 1 month to however long. This would probably be a good idea for alliances having good ole pvp fun competitions. Members of the alliance go between corps and each month the leading corps earn isk. Maybe each corps top 10 players only get counted.
It would be cool to see how much isk a nice pvper can go for to play for another corp for a 2 month contract... or who can draft the best team... who would be the mvp... the mip...
Only problem, as with much of Eve, how can you trust anyone by paying them a 100mil deal to play for your corp only to see them leave the next day. Contracts would have to be payed at the end of the period to give them incentive. I'm sure there could be clauses too in each individual contract.
... just a Saturday brain fart.

This wouldn't work. Merc corps, at least the ones that aren't dumb, always ask for cash up front.

I'm talking about individual players... not corps.
You get a signing bonus, then your full contract upon completion. --------------------------------- Pithecanthropus erectus, a name derived from Greek and Latin roots meaning upright ape-man. |

As said before, Freeform contracts are THE contract for this.
You can describe anything you like in it and as long as you don't ask money from the player who has to accept it, the only thing you can loose is time when the contract would be failed at the end of the term.
