Other than a carrier, what would you suggest? I would think bs but they might have trouble getting away if too many showed up at your camp.

Hype is the most efficient for sentry tanking. Good for remote boosting tacklers. You will need null to get a good alpha on targets decloaking , though. The tracking isn't stellar , so you better have BC mates (or the heavy dictor himself) webbing your targets.
It is indeed vulnerable and very slow to align , but can deaggro easier. Which is why it's supreme at station camping.
Brutix and command ships don't make much difference in camps , use a phobos if you can.
Note that all gallente ships will dear poor damage at minmatar gates unless you fit rails.

Rigs ( if you can afford it )

Drones ( note u will have to pull em back every now and then so the sentry's don't pop them )
> Hammerhead II's
> Hobgoblins II's / Warrior II's
that gives you a solid tank and a fair amount of dps
