I recently purchased a clone that saves 60,000 sp's iirc. Since then, I've gained quite a bit of sp's, but I'm still only at about 36k total.
Let's say I've gained 10,000 sp's since I cloned. If I were to get podded, would I keep those 10,000 or is it necessary to repurchase clones every so often if you improve skills even though total sp's are below the clone cap?

Edited by: Uncle Bruno on 29/04/2004 15:34:29 Edited by: Uncle Bruno on 29/04/2004 15:33:17 If your clone is for 60k and you purchased it at 36k, and then you gain an additional 10k putting you at 46k total. Your clone is still good up to 60k. No need to repurchase until you pass 60k. BUT! If you get podded, you will need to repurchase your clone @ 60k again.
Now, I have a question of my own. If you have 1mil skill points, and you forgot to purchase a clone. The default level is 30k. Does that mean you lose 970k skill points? Or does that mean you could potentially lose up to 970k, but you may only lose 110k?

From what I gather you lose one rank from your highest skill.
So if you had Frigate and Cruiser at level 5 and got podded without a clone you would drop to Cruiser Level 4 but frigate would stay at level 5.
Not a killer when you are starting out but if you lose a months worth of training you will be pis... annoyed.
Someone will phrase it better than I have though.

Rather than make a new thread, I will just tack my clone Qs to this one.
I see that the most expensive clone (at my noobie station anyway) saves just over 19 million skill points. Are there many folk over 19 mill? Is this limit on clones a way to keep people from learning too many skills? --------- Kitten Hearder Evolution made my sig Less Entertaining than your's. |

I think the highest skill people are at about 13million skill points atm. Assuming that they can gain about a million skill points per month, there's still quite a while before even these guys have to worry.
We may even have Shiva before then

I had a question too....
Looking at the clones, the next one up for me says "1,600,000 - 2,000,000 skil points"
Does theis mean i have to wait til i get 1.6 mill skill poinst before i can use it, or it will work?

As long as the clone as at least as many skill points as your character, you can use it. I just bought a 240k (or something like that) one for my character and he's only at about 120k.
