Has anyone made a machinima based on EVE? Short film? Feature-length film? Series?

Years ago a film called evolution was started. The trailers looked absolutely amazing but I haven't heard anything about it since.
Could have been just a prank to annoy people or a massive PR stunt I suppose. Shame if it was.

The Evolution movie isn't machinima, it's just a normal movie made using EVE as a base. They have stated that they continue to work on it, but the problem is they do that sort of thing as a job, so they rely on their spare time to make it, which apparently takes a very long time. There is a chance it will eventually be released, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Anyway. As far as I'm concerned machinima is just a video or movie made using real time game footage, in which case pretty much every single thing in this forum applies. There are some that are better than others though, such as the movies created by Dire Lauthris, who makes heavy use of editing like you might with a normal movie.

One thread about Evolution is here.
I hope this movie does continue to be made, it looks awesome and the graphics are amazing.

As always, I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that machinima is basically a movie, short film, music video, etc. created using staged video game footage. They normally have a plot or hook, or at least something more interesting than "oooh look at me blow stuff up while I play music in the background."
Don't get me started on blowing stuff up videos. I've never seen one that was truly unique. People think they're directors and editors because they can fraps a few clips and slap it all together with some crappy song playing in the background. /rant
