Just wondering if the fact you now get no change in sec rating for killing NPC pirates is this just bugged or now the case?
Well according to the message that pops up says your sec rating has been adjusted by 0.0000 for killing blah blah blah
This is from pirates in a 0.2 system..?

Read the 6/12/03 news release on the friend-foe tracking system designed to keep player pirates from restoring sec. status by killing npc pirates --------------

New and sophisticated friend-foe tracking system implemented A new and highly advanced galactic system for tracking aggravations between space ships is being deployed by CONCORD and is expected to become operational tomorrow. According to official sources the new system will give CONCORD a better overview of deep space conflicts and will reflect more clearly the nature of the combat. The result is that the legal benefits for attacking pirates will diminish, while attacks on civilized space travelers will have more severe legal repercussions in this new system.
So, if I am to to understand this correctly..
You will hardly get any security rating adjustment for killing NPC Pirates, but a large adjustment for attacking any PC ship?
Which has interesting rammifications. There is or will be a more severe penalty for having a negative rating with a particular faction, station defense and gate turrets will fire on you if you have a negative rating with whom the system belongs. Attacking a PC player will result in a large hit in your standing with the faction that player belongs to. Be expected to catch some fire from stationary turrets in any systems or any stations/gates owned by that faction presumeably. It also could mean a docking request being denied by a station owned by that faction. However, attacking NPC pirates will result in a very small rating hit with that faction and any factions associated with them. Going into their space and docking in their stations won't be much of a problem, at least until you have killed ALOT of their ships. This is my understanding of it, is this how it is? This is fine, except if ratings weren't reset, I will have a serious problem showing my face in Gurista space (-10.0 rating with Guristas). Hmmm.

???
I thought that was just another example of their poor command of written english... meaning that PLAYER pirates (attacking meaning ones who attack others) would not gain security as easy... or something, I was waiting for a clarification.
How the heck am I gonna hit my 10.0 goal now?
I have taken off npcs for last 3 weeks cos wanted to explore missions. I am at 7.7 and could have been 10 by now... if this is gone - there goes another aspect of the game I enjoyed... the sec raising exp-bar.
Starting to doubt the future (for me) of this game.

Its stupid now, In the last 2 hours I have killed 25 pirates a mixture of beasts (40k bounty), ravagers (30k), ravishers (20k), and my security status hasn't moved a bit! I'm noticed I was getting getting +0.0004 per beast, so to gain 1.0 ss I need to kill 2500 beasts! Once again CCP have gone waaaaaaay too far! To gain 1.0 I need to kill 100,000,000isk worth of Beasts! Get real that'd take forever. __________________

Ok maybe it is just a display issue. I notice that everyone that is posting information is only going out to 4 places, .0004 What if the changes have lowered the amount gained to say 5 or 6 places so you are getting .00004 or .000004 per kill but the display only goes out to 4 palces and your information read .0000
Just a thought.

I think you two missed my point.
That's right, you can kill and kill and kill NPC pirates and not have to really deal with any negative consequences. You still can go into NPC Pirate controlled space and no get swarmed by Guristas, Angels, Serpenits, etc. when you step foot into the system.

As a nice side bonus:
Spent one entire evening killing Marauders (40k) Deps (20k) and the random placeholder hunters and raiders (8/6K)
Started at 7.6 sec... ended at 7.4 ;P
Why? Well I was close to 7.7 and hit that.
BUT second to last one of evening yet another guy decided to swoop in and shoot at one I am shooting. This time I didn't see em and when I hit smartbomb to knock out some missles and dmg the marauder I hear "Security loss" and poof 7.7 -> 7.4.
Of course I could live with it if I believed I'd get it back in a weeks worth of angel killing, but I won't.
Seems like having smartbombs even when think u are alone is a sure way in new system to become KOS and a pirate without meaning to.
Figure if this happens once a week (likely more) you will be negs w/i a month or less.
Takes way more than one day to get +0.1 to sec even if killing nothing but the RARE 40k bounty pirates...
Sigh.

Here is the Idea I tossed to ccp . Which is similar to what they have now but totaly diferent.
" I think that a new sec system would improve gameplay. It would be nice if pirates whos sec level droped belov 2 would not be able to bring their security level back up so quikly again. Since in the real world if you kill some one inocent the cops don't let you go scot free if you then go and kill several other killers." But the way they have it now is too hard to get your sec level up.
