Well i files a bug report the other week .. or 2 but anyway it was about a "bug" with ecm.
Say if a falcon was jamming 3-5 targets then got jammed itself then all its jam cycles would still finish (even though its not even got them locked anymore). So unless it gets perma jammed it can just lock back up all its previous targets within seconds and just jam them all again as if its never even lost its lock, (things like bs have a few seconds to lock other things so they would be essentially perma jammed anyway eventhough the falcon got jammed)
I mean i got told this wasn't a bug and it is working as intended, whats everybody's views on that ( Do you think if the jamming ship losses its lock / gets jammed all of its ecm stop jamming, instead of atm they finish their cycle even though the falcon / any ecm ship is jammed) ?
or can somebody explain that it scrambles the locking computer for 20 seconds so it doesnt matter if the falcon looses the lock ect.
K thx

This, basically. When you get hit by ECM you are unable to lock anything for the next 20 seconds, period. It doesn't matter if the jamming pilot warps out, is destroyed, etc. This is just how ECM works and how it has always worked - so yes, working as intended.

well, ok... it works this way:
The ECM ship jams a few ships. As soon as those are jammed, the 20 second timer starts. They will NOT be able to lock anything in those 20 seconds, regardless what happens after the ECM ship's jamming attempt succeeded.
Given the ECM ship gets jammed after successfully activating its own jammers. Then, of course, it will be unable to lock anything for a minimum of 20 seconds. It can not lock back all its targets within seconds, it will have to wait those 20 seconds like any other ship getting jammed.
So, in the rare case the ECM ship gets jammed immediately after its own successful jamming, given that it is only jammed one cycle, yes, then it can lock back its targets right after those 20 seconds, which will most likely be before those targets get their own lock again, which will result in the ECM ship practically continuously jamming its targets.
On average the ECM ship's targets should have 10+ seconds in which they can lock their targets and fire on them (plenty of time to kill a Falcon btw.). If two successive jam cycles succeed on the ECM ship this stretches to 30+ seconds. Not bad, if you ask me.

No.
Before CCP broke ECM (made it luck based) the ship you were jamming was free to start locking you back the instant your lock on him was broken. The ECM modules themselves had cycles of course just like they do now, but the actual jamming effect didn't. It was a time when ECM was REAL ECM, men were real men and women were... well, no they were probably also real men (on the internet)
