Been playing eve now for about 11 months. My main character has a lot of responsibilities as a mining corp CEO. As much as I wanted to switch to piracy I thought it would upset a lot of people so decided to purchase a second account.
Because it takes so long to create a decent pvp character I made sure I could fly an indi for the purpose of parking up in a belt chewing rocks while my gunnery skills train up.
A few weeks ago I got bored of chewing rock and as this account was gonna upset people anyway I went off looking to cause some trouble. I found 2 members of unholy Corp mining away in 2 doms. So I approached their can and filled my cargo hold with all I could carry. 4 Trips later and I had emptied the cans they had kindly filled. Got lots of abuse in local and a couple of threats via eve mail but wasnĘt really bothered because I had just made 0.75 mill in a few mins.
Last night I was back in the same system, as I approached a belt I could see a couple of guys mining, saw their can and considered robbing it, then changed my mind. I parked up at the opposite side of the belt and started mining a huge plag rock. After 15 minutes or so the guys at the opposite end of the belt target locked me. I asked in local why and got no reply. I started to approach them and again typed in local unlock me, or I rob your can.
I then got a reply from a member of unholycorp who said he had told them about me and if I went near their can he would pod me. I was then even more compelled to rob the can as I was in 0.9 space and wanted to know how the hell they where gonna pod me.
I plodded over to the can and emptied it, the miners screamed he robbed me in local and 3 members of unholycorp warped right on top of me. 1 of them in a megathron set off his smartbomb, completely missing me but hitting the poor dude mining. Concord then appeared from nowhere and destroyed the megathron at this time I was laughing so hard I didnĘt notice the other 2 ships being destroyed I just warped back to the station to drop off my ore.
While outside the station its where I saw the 3 pods.
I docked, dumped my ore then undocked. Decided to sit outside the station and bait the aggressive Muppets out, if they where stupid enough to fire at me in 0.9 at the belt there bound to not know about sentry guns.
Sure enough another member of their Corp appeared in a kestrel. He said either I leave or never come back or he opens fire. Between crying laughing and rolling around on the floor I managed to type the letters f.u.
Shortly after that I saw his kestrel blow up from the sentries shortly followed by a missile sailing harmlessly past my ship.
Then for the next 15 mins I watched em all undock in frigates and shuttles only to be destroyed by sentries and concord.
Never had so much fun on eve in the last 11 months of playing.

Seriously though. So let me see, your part of a mining corp, yet to then go and demote yourself to a pathetic ore theif with another char?
Well, I agree with my first statement, your so damn cool its not funny, and the making some people loose their battleships aswell, that just puts you in a new league, your so damn cool I want to have your babies.

Did someone spike your scordite or something? 
Yet another miner joins the darkside.. soon, pirates will randsom and gate camp with Miner 2's and Harvesters still on their ships.

Look on the bright side I could have turned to the dark side with my main char. 10mill + skill ponts, plus a Raven, Scorp & Megathron ships. Would have been -10.0 sec status within a week. |

Well so far you havnt done any real piracy at all. All you've done is some ore theft that im sure as a ceo of a mining corp you've *****ed and complained about at some time somewhere.
To be honest I feel sorry for the miners that lost their battleships but if they were flying them they should have known better than to try to open fire on you in a 0.9 of all places

As I said earlier I was only robbin ore for a laugh as there is nothing else to do until my gunnery skills are complete. At the minute I can only fly a friggate with n00b guns. Currently training missile launcher lvl 5, from that ill eventually have torps lvl 5 & a caracal cruiser x 2 as im training 2 alts to be pirates. Then Ill be capable of some real piracy. Only ever stole ore twice to provoke abuse, helps pass the time of skill training. Would love a repeat of last night though n00bs in battleships are sooooooooo funny. |

Im not saying what my other account is called because its nothing to do with piracy, in fact my other account helps defend systems from pirates. Im just getting the most out of the game and playing it from 2 different perpectives.
Must say for anyone just starting in eve or thinking of getting a second account, my pirate character is having far more fun than the mining character. Kinda makes me wish Id picked this profession from the start. |

I compare people stealing ore in EVE to teamkillers in bf1942. They have but one thing on their minds: wrecking the day or week for someone else. It is not even piracy, you're a small time criminal probably dreaming about becoming a famous pirate one day. Well, stealing ore will not earn you the respect you might be seeking.

I don't think you should have told everyone that this is a second account + now everyones gonna know that in-game, and someday you could slip up and give away that mining accounts name.
I also think that the reason you're getting all these flames is because as a CEO of a mining corp, you would have no doubt thought these tactics lame yourself, and to laugh at something that I don't doubt could, if it hasn't already, happen to the miners in your mining corp is poor.
All in my opinion at least.

hes stil playing the game. its apart of it. and i dont think ccp will stop people from having multiple accounts
dont understand all this witch hunt thing for people with more accounts. are people yellous 
and it wouldnt surprise me if most of the pirates have more accounts then one 
or more like most people with more accounts have a pirate char

Indeed ore stealing is Lame which is why i have only done it twice in the 2 months i have had the account. I only stole ore on this occasion in retalliation to the aggressive act put on me.
The reason for the post however was one of humour relating to the dosey n00bs in battleships who got themselves put into pods without laying a single shot on me. If you read the post you will see that i was solo mining at the opposite end of the belt to everyone else.
I thought the encounter was hillarious and doubt i will ever repeat it again which is why i posted it.
I reckon its a good contender for the eve darwin awards.
Still tickles me now thinking about it. |

When someone comes in here and posts a story with some sincerity, in this case the temptation to go over to the dark side (or fun side some may argue), he gets flamed for it. Sure I wouldn't have liked it if someone stole my ore but it is everybody's responsibility to learn from harsh lessons. The worst people out there are not the pirates or ore thieves, its the immature smack talk, know it all attitude. Thanks for sharing that story D20. Later.

What you've done is not pirating. I would even agree with carebears, that CCP should find some way to punish (or allow victims to punish) ore stealers.
Please don't post under the 'pirate' name if this is all you're doing. Granted, pirating is fun and it makes us laugh what carebears do sometimes...but ore stealing is pretty bad.

i totally agree, ore stealing isn't pirating, if ur bored trying to waste time to train up skills, go run agent missions, or something useful, haul for ur main acct whilst he mines. and please don't try hiding behind an alt, its just pathetic. Alts in this game is one of the worst things IMO tht ccp could have put in

yeah so ore stealing sucks and all but thats what secure cans are for....if you want to be greedy and jettison a can into space then you run the risk of having somebody taking your stuff. and when have pirates had morals..you will pod someone destroy their ship that they worked mining for yet stealing ore is bad? crime is crime, bad is bad. i think its pretty black and white, but thats just me. oh and dont tell me the victims of a pirate attack have a chance to fight back cuz any pirate that give their target a chance to fight back isnt a good one...you would make no money, better to suprise them and make off with the loot and take no dmg yourself.
