Hey guys/girls I'm still rely new to eve online and just wanted to know were I should get started I have done all the agents that teach you all the skills and stuff needed in all the areas but I have no real idea were I should go after that, I would like to get into mining a bit which I have my ship for that, but dont rely know what type of agents I should be looking for.
Other stuff like implants and Skills I dont rely know were to go with, I have been doing a lot with skills trying to get them up for mining and flying a better ship that can mine better ore. |

First tip: mining is horrible.
It's largely AFK, so you're not playing the game all that much or learning anything about it, and you're competing against armies of bots that spew out ore 23.5/7 and an entire region spitting out minerals at far greater efficiency than miners can do, so your income will be ****-poor.
Stay away from it until they've made it worth-while. Missions are a far better starting point if you want to make money.
However, the best option would be to find a newbie friendly corporation that showers you in dirt-cheap ships and the skillbooks to use them, and then sends you out to explode spectacularly and repeatedly. This will teach you more about the game (both in terms of amount, and in terms of usefulness) than anything PvE-like you could ever do (doubly so since you won't be doing it alone).
Second tip: EVE is not a nice game and it is not a normal game. If you have any experience with other MMOs, you're in for a rough ride because all your lessons and preconceptions from those games will be wrong. If you assume that things should be working in a particular way because they usually do, it's a pretty safe bet that they'll work the exact opposite way, and will be purposefully designed to do so. Contrary to popular belief, EVE isn't all that hard GÇö it's just different from most other MMOs, and it's this complete change in thinking that throws people off.
Also, learn this now: EVE is a PvP game. Everything you do will be done in competition with other players; everything you do will affect them, and they will try (and succeed) to affect you right back in a myriad of ways. If you simply adjust accordingly (again, not that hard GÇö just different), you'll have very little problems doing well.

Don't mine.
It is the single biggest mistake you will make in EVE.
Train weapon skills of some sort, ideally missiles and Caldari missile boats and you'll be on your way to making the mad money. |

Don't listen to these clowns. I mine in a scythe in 2-k and I'm pulling in almost 5M isk per hour. That's Arab money. Pretty soon I'll have a Hurricane. After that, maybe I'll get a Hel. |

Start with missioning, L1-4.
Mining's easier, but it doesn't quite scale well when you're just a starter character. It's also a dead end one trick skill tree for most intent and purposes. Focus your skills for missioning and as these will become the core foundation when you want to expand it to other areas like incursions, exploration and PVP.
You can always come back to mining if you feel like it later, though for many players, they just build/purchase a dedicated industrial character (which synergizes well with the mining skill tree).

Also, there are many players in this game that absolutely hate mining to a degree that they fanatically attempt to stop other players from doing so. Whatever their actual motivations for this, there is a simple fact that a fresh character can make an order of magnitude more isk mining in hisec today, then he/she could 9 years ago when the game started. So although there may ba a lot of competition in that field, it is not a terrible place to start at least to make money to afford your first good ships.
Above all, consider this game a 'dangerous' sandbox. Do whatever you think is fun to do, and do not do anything that you don't find entertaining.
And at all times be watching your back, because there will be as many people trying to sneak up and kill, bait or scam you, as there are willing to help you, and that may be an optimistic ratio:)

If you are looking to make ISK as a new character then I'd suggest training salvaging. If you hook up with a mission runner who isn't interested in the salvage/loot then you can just tag along on his missions and make some quick ISK. There are avenues to do this (in-game chat channels? I don't know) .. someone can point you to them.

Lots of ways to do things. If youve picked mining dont listen to people saying dont do it if you love it. But you will eventually hit a plateau with regards to isk. Early on its great. Itll give you time to study things, read the Eve backstories, get RL work done here and there between cycles. If you use that time to LEARN about Eve. Reading up on the forums, player fansites, the Eve Chronicles were a HUGE part of my early gaming learning while sitting there mining for the backstory. Watch Eve related youtube videos and scour the internet and meet people and make contacts with as many people as you can early on. Dont absolutely follow one persons advice, take everything with liberal amounts of salt as more often than not people will lie, cheat and scam you in this game...its at the heart of what this game is... and do your own thing.
Find like minded individuals and TRY lots of things as quick as you can. From there itll be a matter of a few 3rd party programs like Evemon and EFT for your skill training and ship fittings and off you go. Bookmark the player websites like Ckrukers, all of Chribbas sites and so many more and have them at your fingertips. Theyll make your Eve life a lot easier in the long run.
Set your skill plan, change them a few times, earn the isk youll need to get there and do that and remember the all important thing... HAVE FUN!! Cuz if your not why you playing a game?!?

As others have mentioned salvaging is a good way to make a decent amount of ISK when your a younger player,but it can be hard to find someone who is willing to let you salvage their missions.
My only real advice is find a corp. You can do a lot solo but you will find that its a lot easier to get advice and figure out what direction you want to go in if your a part of a corp.
Now keep in mind that it can also be very hard to find a decent corp,especially when your new to EVE and dont know what to look for. I would advice you to read over this thread which contains advice on how to find a corp and what to look out for and things to avoid. It will also give you an idea on how to advertise your self as a potential recruit so that you have a higher chanse of finding a decent place to settle. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=16943&find=unread
