Its simple really and will only cuase grief to thoes who abuse its use.
The solution Just as per account you can only have one character training at any one time, simply make it so that at any given time all three characters on any account are automatically assigned to the corp of the first charcater.
Thus dummy corps disappear as if you want an alt in that corp your main also need to be part of that corp and thus venerable if u declare war.
Namless newby 0 day scouts and spies will now show as part of the main charcetrs corporation, no more spies in other corps stealing and if this does occur the main chacrert can finally be tracked as for one char to join a corp all three charaters join and can be recored by the CEO.
Ganker can also eb tracked back to thier main corp and thus can finally be dealt with through proper main corp wars.
I got nothing against people using differnt charcters for differnt tasks etc but there is absoluty no reason why they cant be all aprt of the same corp whenthey do this unless your trying to cheat the system
So as stated above Make it so all characters can only be part of the one same corp at any given time

TAKE AWAY ALT'S completly...interfears to much with everything as it is right now.
Perhaps more option in your maincharacter or som.

Oh another nice idea. (Although this should go in the idea forums)
It makes perfect sense to. Those claiming to use alts for good reason should not mind..they stay in the same corp your 'main' is in and you can carry on as normal; unless of course you leave it in which case your alts follow you.
Bam, bye bye alt wars! Anyone who disagrees are going to be the ones using alts for that purpose anyways. And for those who pirate full time..you play you pay, a good consequence for being naughty. You can't make alts to not be or trick someone.

And you think this is a solution ?
Originally by: Phasics Just as per account you can only have one character training at any one time, simply make it so that at any given time all three characters on any account are automatically assigned to the corp of the first charcater.
And then he resigns the Corp and joins an NPC corp, and if you ask the CEO whos ALT was it he simply says i do not have a clue .. what can you do about it ?

There is absolutely no reason why the shouldn't be able to be part of two different corps, and last time I checked, being in a corp is not cheating. Like having a fighting corp and a mining corp under tha same leadership without actually being merged (RONA/RONA-KIA and others of that group for example)

give me one clear example of why you could possibly want to be in two corp at the same time ?
@ Love Ya I'm not quite sure why u dont think it would work mabe if u explain in what instance better
Hey if you cant find whoes alt it was from the CEO and the offense was big enough there nothing to stop you puttin the hurt on the main corp with a war as punishment for harbouring them. may make corps more stirct about who they let in
Also if you use an alt in a dummy corp to attack somone and then change back to your main corp later anyone who has your alt in thier address book for attacking them will know all the previous employments and thus can track the main corp down and take action against them directly

What is really needed is that each of your chars has a tab marked Alts, this would list all players on that persons account and would allow you to see who they also play as.
This more than others would make it more dificult to hide behind a newly generated char.

In regards to the topic title, I think the 'final solution' would for CCP to close all the servers and hang up a sign on the door saying 'Bugger off'.

I don't agree. I created an alt corp to test out corp functions when I was not a leader in my corp yet. I still have this corp for this purpose. Corp tools can be checked without any damage occuring. Another reason I keep this corp is cause sometimes I dont feel like answering the constant Q's in corp chan (me beeing a leader) and just want to hang out in EVE. In these moments my alt corp is a great asset to my game enjoyment.
Imo to only valid solution to the alt issue is give players more tools to police themselves. As the only reason alts are a problem is when they are used for stealing and ganking. Better solutions have been stated elsewhere imo, like extended recycling times for chars and 10 mins strike back period at hostiles

A fair an valid point Mned
although few players would require alts for this use. The chaos sever could be used to test such things. You could also make an alt to join your corp and not tell anyone it was your alt
it would be nice to leave things as they are but imho exploits currently outweigh the benfit and game expence of players.

If the CEO is ownest and a good guy maybe he will give you the Main name, but on the other hand if is not then is nothing you can do ... And try to get your finger to hurt a large PVP or a hard Pirate Corp that they harbour an ALT like this, then we will see as to who will hurt the most

Do not try to Re Invent the game try to adapt you will have more FUN, cause it does not break the EULA to have ALTS and do thinks you cannot or want to do with your main

This is a stupid solution to a problem thats really not that bad...
Its just more whining carebears who want no PVP in this game thats all!
They complained about low space camping, CCP changed it, then they complained abut people tanking sentries..ow sploit sploit oh the horror blahblahblah...CCP changes it
Now they are complaining about wars??!
Give me a break! First of all there is no way on earth this will solve any kind of problem you think there may be, because in most cases the MAIN char is simply used to declare a random gankwar.....and in most cases ive seen those random gankwars werent so random AT ALL!
I do not agree with any kind of linking of the main character to the socalled 'alts'.
THEY ARE SEPARATE CHARS
get it?
Its like when you have multyple charslots in other games. A wizzards, a fighter, a ranger..whatever.
In EVE its a pirate, a miner, a trader, a corpscammer...whatever.
I have been training my ter character slots for MONTHS ok. They are separate characters, and NO i dont abuse them to do naughty things or by my gimps. Both of my secondairy characterslots are in corporations and do their own thing and so on and so forth and each corporation i'm in KNOWS what my other characters are!
SO lets say one of my chars is in a corporation and this corporation goes to war...
Its a dirty little altwar? Its an exploit of the system?
Please give me a break...
This is utter crap...
Nothing needs to be changed to alts. Its not because a few people decide to use desposible alts to suicide themselves on indies and what have you that EVERYONE else with a perfectly good reason to have multyple characters should be punished for this...
Please, if CCP would be even remotly thinking about doing something like this they wouldn't be doing the hardware upgrades cause half the players would just quit anyways.
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

ItĘs a hard one to deal with this. There are many valid reasons for having an alt and many peeps use alts to play a different aspect of the game, e.g. they keep alt totally separate and play as perhaps pirate instead on miner etc...
Others use alts to carry out different in corp tasks, and so they donĘt have to travel e.g. leave research alt in empire etc... (Cheating in my opinion)
The rest of alt use is just griefing!!! and there is A LOT of it.
Suggestions I make is:
1) Let peeps choose 1 char to keep and allow them to move all there training time to that one char before deleting alts.
Or
2) Implement a very long switching time between chars. So say 7 days. Then no more logging as alt scout, and griefers would be stuck with there alt for a whole week (i.e. they lose game time). Peeps who truly wanted to play a different aspect of the game can without having to delete there main char.
What do peeps think, constructive feedback anyone?

PvP without equal risk for both players is not PvP
and as for carebears I made this post and I spent today and most of my days in 0.0 either mining bis/crok or supporting fleet action in Quterious region. did I whine today when I had my ship shot out from under me ? NO , u know why ? becuase it was done by a skilled interceptor who locked me down in under 3 seconds before my friagte could warpout, my hats off to him. why beusase he's risking his own neck sitting out there alone when somone could just as easily jump in and nail him in a better fitted interceptor.
risk both ways is true PvP

Player A is a main and has a corp. Player A wants to join another corp; but he has business with his current corp to still deal with (Mineral/Ore puchases, pickup of items to bring back to offices, trade items, etc...), has many offices around Eve with items in the 'corp' hangar for sale.
Player A creates Player B (CEO) and Player C (Hauler) to continue to run the business so that Player A may leave the corp intact to join another corp. All Player A's assets are still within the old corp and the 2 Alts can continue to bring income in while Player A is out exploring other avenues of interest.
Should Player A want to leave the corp he joined, he can always go back to his old corp with all his assets in place around Eve, just as he left them.
Player B (CEO) Alt can run a corp from creation so no skill training is needed on him; Player C (Hauler) can run basic mods (afterburners & expanders) with maybe a day of training or possibly 2 at the most; so a corp can be setup rather quickly to allow Player A to go explore Eve without loosing all work (offices & goods acquired) up to this point.

I beg to differ...
Any form where a player is attacked by another player would be considered PVP.
What you are reffering to is a fair fight. A fair fight in EVE is something that is short and far in between. Pirates killing victims, fleet battles, its all unfair and unequal ods..
Every now and then you get into a fair fight and its alot of fun but 95% of the time the ods are stacked either in your favor or against you...such is EVE.
This is however NOT about opinions on PVP and whatnot. Its about removing my 2 other characters for no reason at all other then the fact that a small minority of people have used their alts to suicide themselves in high sec space!
I heartly disagree with all this seeying as i have done nothing to deserve this and the only character that deserves a spanking is THIS character and i in no way hide behind my alts or use them to do my dirty work
Make it so it takes a month to recycle a character....that will halfway take care of the altabuse...
Taking away 2 of 3 characters is just to harsh. If ccp does this then they need to charge 5$ a month instead of 15$ imho.
Edit: nowhere in my post did i reffer to YOU as a carebear. I was talking about the various people who have since late seen it fit to post on these forums about their totally UNFAIR wars and the unfair ways in which they got killed. The focus of the topics was alts, altwars, altganking but in reality this was totally unfounded and there was hardly any alts involved, to top it off, it usually turns out that way that the only real blaim befalls the whiner for his neverending stupidity and lameness...
