Why are there only 2 types of medium drones?
All other drone classes can cover the 4 damage types, but using medium drones restricts you, currently, to thermal damage (Hammerhead) and EM damage (Infiltrator).
Have the explosive and kinetic damage causing med drones never been in, or did they mysteriously disappear at some point?

Are infiltrators medium ones? I always thought they were heavyes.Not sure I usually just hammerheads.
Anyone can clear this out?
Anyway I think an heavy drone will always be better then a medium or light so just skill up and get heavyes and your fine.I think they gonna introduce lots of new types of drones soon(tm).

Yep, Infiltrators are medium drones.
Currently we have:
Light: Acolyte, Hobgoblin, Hornet, Warrior
Medium: Hammerhead, Infiltrator
Heavy: Berserker, Ogre, Prator, Wasp
And I can use heavy drones, I'm just curious about where the 'missing' medium ones are

Might become more important with the proposed changes to make frigates hard for heavy drones to hit, particularly since there's been talk of NPC elite frigs being immune to one damage type.

I've mentioned this several times myself. This could be even more important given the proposed changes to targeting. If heavy drones are going to have a hard time hitting frigates then we need to rely on mediums. That's could be rather dificult when half of them are missing.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, assuming they tweak drones to compensate for the speed of the new Interceptor rats...

Can't they just make a Medium drone skill? Or perhaps a real heavy drone skill? (latter would be coupled with a drone limitation on ship other than drone bay size)
Oh and Infiltrators are very small and do little damage.
Skunks data in EVE-DB show scout drones have a speed of 3km/s and heavy drones 2km/s
