Seeing as everyone is doing Caldari, is it because they pay the most or the best sec security/quality? or loot drops what not, please answer if you know anything about this matter.

Everyone is doing it because everyone else is doing it. And everyone thinks if everyone else is doing it, it must be good, as the majority usually dosn't fail. They think the hundreds of caldari mission hub inhabitants can't be wrong and become one of them, add to the mass, so other see that mass+1 and have the same thoughts as they had, and it grows bigger and bigger without actually being better.

Edited by: Hanneshannes on 14/05/2008 18:53:38 Everyone is caldari and for some reason everyone is in caldari space. I guess thats because that's where the CNR comes from :D
Actually, it is bad because of lag and suicide ganks.

Edited by: Forge Lag on 14/05/2008 19:10:54 1) Caldari has about one half of all good agents in game and they are really very good. 2) Caldari has obvious good value of LP due to high demand of mods in LP store. 3) Most people mission in Raven and Caldari missions are best suited for this ship. 4) Caldari space is very populated and has Jita, giving you great infastruture. 5) Caldari has Achura, with it's great stats and missioning skillset.
That said, you can get better rewards elsewhere but it requires some effort/knowledge. Caldari IS brainless easy-mode carebearing incarnate on all fronts. There is enough reasons to go Caldari and not enough reasons to leave it.

One word: Herd.
Caldari does however have the best high sec agent. But the herd just does Caldari Missions cause everyone does.
For the same reason ("everyone does") the undock point to the best agent is filled with CNRs. And all I have to say to that is this: If you're using a CNR, you're doing it wrong .
p.s. figuring out where that agent is and what ship beats the CNR hands-down ... I have to leave as an excercise to the reader. Apologies
Edit: Loot-wise, the Caldari mission runners get an awful lot of Guristas missions, and their loot sucks so bad it hurts. --

Minnie agents give you lots of Angel fights, which is great due to the absurd price of Alloyed Trit Bars (salvage).
Amarr agents give you Sansha / Blood fights which is good if you want to use Lasers (because of the resists). Also the Amarr Navy gear (like the Caldari Navy) is actually better than T2 for the most part and therefore worth something.
I don't know why you would do Gallente missions except to save yourself grinding standings somewhere else or to avoid traffic. Gall. Navy gear is T2 with less fitting. Serpentis suck for loot and salvage.
To be honest I would go with Amarr if I was going to grind faction somewhere new. The main issue (as stated previously) is that the Caldari have more, and more quality, agents than anyone else. Plus Achura kicking so much rear means that many people start with higher Caldari standings and in Caldari space.

I've been thinking of moving from caldari to amarr space myself, but that would mean working for a lower quality lvl 4 agent, as I do not want to risk lowsec missions. Apart from lower lp rewards (and less cash?) for missions, will i lose out on anything else by working for a lower quality agent? I think i read somewhere that the effective quality of the agent played some part in which missions you would get (higher quality = "better" missions), is this true?

So a good 50% of all ppl running missions in caldari space are doing it wrong?
CNR is a PvE machine, the only thing that comes close is the nightmare but with the CNR you get to choose your damage type.

ok, thanks alot, one last question, agents! I see surveillance,Command, security and internal security, what are the difference on these agents(as they all give combat missions)?

SOme give more combat missions, some less. You will get the most from command, security, internal security and surveillance I think. (Not sure about surveillance)

The candidate gets 1000 Points
When you can do 1000+ DPS up close, 750 DPS over 55km, and most importantly insta-pop stuff at 55km or more - without waiting for missiles to fly all the way, popping frigs and cruisers way faster than they can be targeted, and still have an insane shield(!) tank that leaves room for 3 damage mods or other flexibility ... who needs to choose damage types?
Yes, so I do claim in fact that 50% of the ppl are doing it wrong . Although granted one thing, a CNR is easier to get into. --

Dunno where you get that from, I'm doing Amarr LVL IV's (Quality 17 - Effective 42 or something like that) in a highsec system!

Eh, I'm doing Caldari missions because I can do the most damage to them, and tank them the easiest. (Nighthawk, kinetic damage bonus, high kin/therm resists).

This is a negative, not a positive.
With a name like Forge Lag you should know this.

Those who cannot pick and choose every single mission they do. Even Amarr agents give you Guri missions, and both of my Amarr agents have been giving me back to back WC with Angel/Sansha the last couple weeks . I think I've got it about five times in two playing sessions, it really sucks. If only the last room would be Sansha and not Angels I could ignore the Angel side alltogether, but nooo.
Don't get me wrong, I think my Nightmare is quite nifty for missions with EM weak rats. But if you've only got one ship to use, and do not want to decline a lot of missions taking the standings hit, there really is no better option the CNR or the Golem.
Me, I use Domis in addition to the Nightmare. Recently I've started testing a torp raven, which will become a Golem when I get my torp skills up to par.

You'd be better off killing Serpentis, who have better bounties and better loot. Big guns and armor plates @ half a mil (base!) apiece? Yes please.
Changing damage types is so overrated. It barely makes up for the damage lost to defender missiles in most cases. Unless you use torps, of course... then you're set.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

I run missions in Amarr and use a quality 16 agent (highsec), but with 45 effective quality, so I don't complain. Jump into an Amarr gunboat and proceed to insta fry Sansha, Blood, Merc, Drone and EoM missions faster than any CNR can. Ofcourse you'll be slower on the few Guristas missions you're offered, but those can always be declined.
I don't bother looting much anymore except for drones, EoM and Mercs. Plenty of good salvage in Blood and Sansha missions as CCC rigs are always in demand. Just speed through the many missions and earn ISK that way.
I only did recently get a Rattlesnake for fun to take on Worlds Collide (Angel/Sansha), although you can use a laser boat there.
Look around and take a look on the map. I'm quite sure there are some good agents in Mimnatar or Gallente areas, if you look for some quiet places. Do take notice that there are some tales of suicide ganking in Caldari space due to the population, so becareful with fitting expensive faction mods :)
