I see the reasoning behind not letting players place orders within all of EVE, but 1 region is simply to small an area. I experienced not being able to sell my loot from kill missions in the region I was opperating in. Simply because there wasn't many players in the region. Now - one of the neighboring regions was Essence with a hell of a lot of players, they just never bothered to check prices in the region I was in.
As my ship is a fighting vessel I didn't want to take 10 "courrier" runs to get my loot to Essence. In the end I recycled the loot transported the ore to Essence and found an agent there in stead. Back to the highways
All in all I would like to be able to expand the market search to at least neighboring regions. Limiting market sales/searches to the current region is guilty in keeping players within the heavily populated regions, as the best trade is archieved there
P.S. Yes I know about ESCROW - no I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the "official" market |

I agree wholheartedly. If I can check the map & tell how many ppl are in a system 150 jumps away from me....Certainly the communications are in place that would be required to see market information from the Region you are in & all Regions around you.
This would alleviate the problem that folks in border or near border systems encounter. They dock at their Corp's Headquarters, check the market for their region, fly 1-4 jumps to the neighboring region, check the market, & then decide where & what to buy. Being on the edge of a Region means that, within thier Regional Market, some goods may be as many as 30 jumps away (correct me if I'm wrong here).
The game would still have regional Markets in with this system. It would just be alot more convenient for everyone involved & allow for more FUN in the GAME.

It might even be good enough to allow people to only see the prices of goods in other regions, but not place orders. Forcing them to actually go to that region to place the order.
